So I looked at my account this morning, and realized I had actually missed my 16th anniversary of being a member of Big Closet.
Boy, its been a busy 16 years!
but besides the changes I have undergone since, one thing remains - this place is a big part of my life, and I continue to be grateful to Erin and her elves who keep this place running.

BCTS the community
BCTS' home page proudly states that it is "A friendly place to read, write and discuss Transgender Fiction" But it's more than that. It's a community. Before I discovered BCTS I visited many TG fiction sites and read hundreds of stories and even dabbled posting a few on those sites..
Then one day I did the same old search up popped a new site. Big Closet Top Shelf. I had been to the old Big Closet and there some good stories there, but this "Top Shelf" thing was new. I gave it a look. It was a lot more user friendly than the old site or any other site I'd been too for that matter.
I didn't begin to realize just what l'd stumbled onto. I lurked for some time just scanning the front page for stories the looked like something I'd like to read. After a time I wanted to post a story. Some time in October of 2004 I became a member.
The best thing I've ever done, On this site I could communicate with the authors and other members. I actually made friends. I'm not just a member; I'm part of a community.

I just checked and I've been a member for 17 years and 10 months. I was actually skulking for a while before that. I will be forever grateful to KristinaLS for pointing me in this direction. I had been frequenting other sites and although I was looking for TG stories I didn't find any site that really satisfied my needs.
Without going into details Kristina and I struck up a conversation on FM and she introduced me to this site. In a short time I found that it satisfied me more than any of the other sites I had been dabbling in. As a consequence I spent more and more time here and soon became a member.
I tentatively began to write, something I had always been afraid to do, but this place lived up to its reputation for friendliness and the feedback was so positive that it didn't take me long to fall in love with it. Many things have changed over the years but that is still the same.
As Patricia Marie said, this is a community. I love it and I have made dear friends here. Some have migrated elsewhere over the years (I'm still in touch with a few) but many remain and some are newer. Unfortunately some are deceased, that is life.
There is nowhere like this site and I appreciate the love that has gone into keeping it going. Thank you, Erin and your team of Elves.
You'll have to put up with me as long as I live or have the marbles to participate.
Lot of...
Huggles given out over the years! <3
