Which is why you are getting this so early!
The mini heatwave that the UK has enjoyed over the last few days is literally being blown away, the wind is getting up, the blue skies replaced by clouds and temperatures have dropped to more comfortable levels.
Thursday though i headed out to ride an off road route i've been eyeing up for five years, a couple of kilometres through woodland and fields just west of Bristol airport. Of course i didn't go directly there, no i took a roundabout route via Chew Valley lake (its actually a reservoir but that's splitting hairs), it was warm but not hot, ideal for this sort of ride. The bridleway was, well, dry if not always rideable on anything less than an MTB, especially through Goblin Combe, once out of the dip though it became a nice route, sheltered from the sun and downhill all the way back to tarmac.
Lunch was a chicken burger at Clevedon before a wind assisted ride back to Brizzle, 91km and 700m so not huge but quite enjoyable.
Friday i ended up doing not much more than a three mile walk for my exercise, picking up some groceries on the way back. The big news of the day, well week really, was that my brother will be moving to his 'new' flat next weekend so i'll be travelling up to GOC late this coming week for a few days to help with the move, and see family and friends. More on that on Wednesday.
I usually have a long ride on Saturdays but with the Bun Run today i'd generally go for a walk instead. To be honest that didn't appeal so, after a bit of gardening and lazy time in the morning, i headed out for a very leisurely ride which took me down to the Avon Gorge. In the end i covered 33km with 276m tasking in some of the off road trails in Leigh Woods and Ashton Park before re-crossing the city back to 'ponds. It was another relaxing ride, i have to admit on getting a bit intense sometimes on my rides.
Of course there is new Gaby today, And so to Bed is the 38th chapter of the 27th volume, i hope you enjoy it.
That's it for today, i'll be back on Wednesday with news of next weekend but for now,
Wiedersehn,
Madeline Anafrid

Last week's warm
at least got things growing in the plots and pots, now our north and east chill is back for a while. Going to repot the extremely elderly cacti soon, perhaps they will wake up as well.
