Elsbeth disappeared five years ago today.
She posted so many wonderful stories on BCTS. My favorites are Harry Potter - Season of Change, Freyja's Daughter and The Lost Queen. I still re-read them regularly. In 2020 she was posting a chapter a week, regular as clockwork, in addition to logging in to leave comments several times a week. Many of us were in a private chat group guessing what was going on in The Lost Queen. We were so SO happy whenever a new chapter came out and we could see how close we are.
And then on April 9th, 2020 she said in the comments that she is "stupidly busy" but safe. (This was the start of the COVID scare.) That is the last day we heard from her.
We miss you Elsbeth.

I wish she was back
:(
This is Elsbeth's last picture usage.
I remember her stories fondly
Whatever happened, we should honor her contributions to Bigcloset.
It's a bunch of folks writing/commenting/chatting for the love of community.

Yes I miss her also and same as you go back and read her Lost Queen along with Freyja’s Daughters. Wishing she was still adding to her stories. I miss her quirkyness, her unique style of writing, story telling.

That authors and occasionally readers who comment seem to disappear, they are missed, but maybe life has caused a change, they may ail or worse, or they have got what they needed here and moved on. If so I wish them well but they know they can always return.

Lost Queen
I share in your mourning.
In a way she is the lost queen of story telling.
There are many I miss on this site…….
Elsbeth being one of those I miss the most. She was a truly talented author, and like many others here I miss her and her writing. Also like many others, I cannot tell how many times I have gone back and re-read her unfinished stories - The Lost Queen being amongst my absolute favorites by any author, and Freyja’s Daughters being another. It is a true tragedy that we have lost her.
Based on the circumstances and the timing, one can only assume that she succumbed to Covid, but I can hope and pray that some day she will suddenly reappear here and finish her work. If not, then I hope that she has found a better place, wherever she is - in this world, or the next.
I proposed some time back that we try to find a way to keep track of those who frequent this site, a way that those of us who cherish the people here can keep track of each other in our many disparate locations around the world. Unfortunately, many on this site are not out in real life and must needs worry about family and friends, even employment should their secret lives and identities here become public knowledge - hence an understandable reluctance to give out contact info. I wish that we could devise a way to keep track of the regulars here, and a person who those people trust with their contact info so that we could keep track of them.
In the current political climate this may be even more difficult to participate in such, as many feel the need to protect themselves. But it may be even more important for those same reasons. For when they come for me, I can only hope that there will be those who will speak out for me and mine, and that I will be remembered as the person I truly am.
So many have been lost here………
Elsbeth is only one of the more notable individuals. I also lament the disappearance of my good friend Bailey Summers; we’re it not for Bailey, I would not be here today. Bailey disappeared some time ago, having popped up once or twice over the past years - but otherwise dropping completely out of sight. There are many others too numerous to list.
I miss them all, and I mourn the loss of their light. The world, and my life, are lesser, darker, without them in it.
