this late posting lark!

So whats been happening here in Maddyland? Well a lot and not much. Thursday's forecast wasn't great so i ended up doing 'stuff' rather than going for a ride which instead i set off on on Friday morning. The plan was simple, grab a burger at my usual stop in Clevedon then loop back, choice of steed was the E and i was rolling along nicely when an error message flashed up and the power died. Usual logic with these things is to do a restart but that didn't work, what now?

Well i still needed to eat so i pressed on sans power to the food stop, while i waited for my mucky burger i checked the interweb, the fault was apparently a connection issue - but why and how. The quick roadside fix didn't work which meant a shorter ride more directly back to base. I decided to top up the battery before delving into fixing things (not a given with my skills!), but when i checked later, it seemed to have fixed itself! I can only surmise that all the wet left from Thursday had made its way inside, the simple act of drying out was the fix, Well i hope so.

Although Saturday was not a bad day and i did get in a walk, i didn't get much done other than start a job i should have done years ago, that is, to sort and curate my 'wardrobe'. Its a big job and i've put it off for far too long, what i do with all the unwanted stuff i'm not sure yet but at least i've made a start.

And so to today. I had a destination for my stop but it was a free form road choice to get there and indeed, back. Essentially it was a ride north, i climbed the Cotswold Edge and pretty much headed vaguely the right direction all the way to Stroud where my lunch stop awaited. I decided to splash out on a roast beef dinner, not the best i've had, certainly not the cheapest but i enjoyed it especially as i wasn't involved in its preparation!

The return, partly in deference to my full belly, was on the barely rolling roads down through Berkeley to Thornbury before tacking across to north Brizzle. There was a bit of blue sky, a spot of sunshine even and a couple of light showers, but importantly, the wind element was almost nil so it was a pleasure to ride even if it only got to 6c. 111km and a little shy of 800m of up, a fair workout,

I have posted Dinner's on me, chapter 24 of On The Edge, more fun and games on Tenerife for Gaby and crew.

At the moment i'm expecting a 'normal' week so i'll be back midweek,
Bye for now,
Madeline Anafrid

getting a habit

Caused me to think of you in a nun's outfit. I know the reason why... I watched an episode of the Sister Boniface series while I ate my roast lunch.

I'm glad that you are getting good use of that E-Bike that I helped get to Brizzle.
The forecast for here for tomorrow is pretty good so I'm going out on my bike. My destination is Chatham Dockyard.
