For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out why life is like this. I would love to not be seen as such a freak sometimes.

No making sense of it.
It seems to me when I was doing full makeup and only wearing skirts or dresses, more people clocked me. One young clerk in a Safeway store made a point of saying "Paper or plastic sir?" with an emphases on the sir, I was wearing one of my nicest dresses with heels and a turquoise pendant as well as a liberal dose of Toujours Moi.
These days I go out in various pants and flats with minimal makeup (lipstick and mascara) and some feminine top and nobody blinks even in the women's restroom. Women strike up conversations with me in the check out line in the grocery store.
Go figure.

Some people...
Are just mean.
Others likely want to prove that they are perceptive, or maybe they think that they are doing the world a service.
Expecting humans to make sense?
It's a bit like expecting turkeys to fly. They have the essential equipment, but its underpowered for the job and most don't bother with it.
