I usually just listen to music or podcasts when I walk around the city.

My favorite podcast right now is “The Daily.” It's from The New York Times. They cover one story every day.

Ah. I try to not listen to the news when I’m out and about. It’s depressing at times and crazy all of the other times.

Yeah! But it’s really good for me because I feel like if I don’t know what’s going on then I can’t talk intelligently about anything that’s happening. So yeah, I think it’s important to stay informed.

What do you usually read?

CNN, Foxnews, local news sites…I try to get the information from different angles.

Interesting. Do you find yourself agreeing more often than disagreeing or vice versa?

A little of both. Sometimes I’m yelling at the screen

I usually ask questions to myself like “and then what” or “that’s all you can come up with?”

Yes it does. And that’s why we need to keep talking to each other even if we are not always going to agree. We should listen to understand rather than just listening for our turn to talk next time.

Have you ever been in a conversation when the other person attacks your position? I don’t mean they disagree but they straight out laugh or say you’re an idiot?

Honestly I'm not sure how I would respond to that.

No one wants to debate on things…they just want to trade barbs and talking points
