The waters lie calm

A large fin breaks the surface.

A small ship rises from the sea and skiffs across the water before it changes shape and launches into the air, this is a LIGHTWING.

EXT. BEACH--MORNING

The lightwing barely touches the ground as it flies by.

INT. CRAFT

RYOS JOVNAKAH (18) sits in front of multiple controls and pedals. His uniform has multiple insignias.

He pulls back on the controls and slams his foot to the floor.

The engines accelerate as the craft takes off into the sky.

EXT. CANYON--MORNING

A large fire burns.

KYLIE WYSAX (23; brown hair, light blue eyes) stands before the fire.

Her hair whips in front of her face as the wind moves through the flames.

She closes her eyes and lowers her head.

EXT. ABOVE THE CANYON--MORNING

The craft takes a fast dive into the canyon.

EXT. CANYON

Kylie chants a prayer.

She holds her head up to the sky and she holds her hand out

She plunges it into the fire.

The flame changes into a light blue.

She pulls her hand back and then turns around to see the lightwing touchdown silently behind her.

The cockpit opens.

RYOS
We’re ready for departure when you are, Captain.

She walks to a bag on the ground and takes out a rifle-like device.

KYLIE
I assume you are ready to leave, Mr. Jovankah?

RYOS
Permission to be frank, Captain?

She aims the gun at the fire.

KYLIE
Permission granted.

She fires. The flames vanish (holographic) in the flash of light.

RYOS
I think I speak for the rest of the crew when I say we’ve had more excitement watching miterworms hatch than beingg here.

The two walk back to the craft.

KYLIE
Well, then you must try to impress me, Ryos. Get to it.

RYOS
Yes ma’am.

INT. LIGHTWING

The cockpit hatch closes as the engines fire up.

Ryos pulls back on the controls and slams his foot on a pedal once again.

The ship strafes to the right, still moving forward.

Ryos moves along with the ship’s motion.

Kylie sits, unaffected by the centrifugal force.

EXT. CANYON--MORNING

The craft speeds along the canyon floor.

INT. LIGTHWING

Ryos pulls back on another control and launches the ship back into the air.

EXT. OCEAN SURFACE

The ANGELBLUE-an interstellar craft capable of submersible travel (appearance is that of an Angelfish)--floats miles off of the shore.

The ship’s blue exterior glimmers in the sunlight.

At present, its right wing stands up, as a dorsal fin.

INT. SMALL CRAFT

RYOS
Ryos to Angelblue, we’re on approach.

COMPUTER VOICE (OS)
This is Angelblue, welcome back, Commander.

RYOS
The ship’s happy to hear from me at least.

SAKURA (OS)
Angelblue to the Captain.

KYLIE
Go ahead, Sakura.

SAKURA (OS)
Incoming transmission from Earthstar Defense Command. Audio only.

KYLIE
Relay message.

COMPUTER VOICE (OS)
Unable to comply, message is of secure frequency.

KYLIE
Relay the message to my quarters.

Ryos looks back to Kylie-she nods--and then back to the front.

He guns the engine.

INT. BRIDGE

The bridge of the Angelblue stands precise and compact.

Kylie walks onto the bridge.

Ryos steps in behind her.

NYRISE Varseiko (16, blond with a purple streak down the middle; Angelblue’s “helmsman”) looks up from her station and stands.

NYRISE
Captain on the bridge.

SAKURA Tsukino(17; red hair, she has an optical implant for her right eye; Angelblue’s tactical officer) stands as well.

JENO Zoen (18; black hair; Angelblue’s defensive system officer) raises his head, but doesn’t stand at attention-he does not have legs.

Ryos sits down in a central chair.

Kylie nods and then walks back off the bridge.

Nyrise stares down, in a gaze.

RYOS
Ready ship for conversion, Nyrise.

Nyrise closes her eyes.

RYOS
Nyrise?

She snaps to attention and sits at her station.

NYRISE
Yes sir.

INT. KYLIE’S QUARTERS

Immaculate, almost inhuman.

Kylie walks to her desk and taps out a code on a console.

COMPUTER VOICE (OS)
Relayed message from Earthstar Defense Command.

NILES (OS)
Hello, Kylie.

Her eyes grow wide.

NILES (OS)
I am sending this message over secure channel…however, I am no longer with Earthstar Command

She taps at a console.

KYLIE
Where are you?

The computer shows text: Encrypted message; origin unknown.

NILES OS
I am contacting you to let you know that I am fine, and I am close to finding what I have devoted my life to.

She shakes her head.

NILES OS
The prophecies are true.

She stands up and slams her hand on the side wall.

NILES OS
I know you do not believe me, young one…but it is true. Shalla-Ball exists, and I am close to finding her brood. I tell you this in hope that you will join me…in my dream. With love, your father, Niles Petrovich.

COMPUTER VOICE (OS)

KYLIE

RYOS (OS)
Ryos to captain.

Incoming message from Earthstar. It’s the command council.

She walks back to her desk.

KYLIE
Good morning, gentlemen.

INT. COUNCIL ROOM

A cavernous room overlooking a great city below.

Five well-decorated officers sit at a table.

Admiral MARSHALL (60’s, tall and gruff) stares ahead at the image of KYLIE.

MARSHALL
We’re sending the Angelblue on a search and retrieval.

KYLIE
Retrieval of what?

COMMADANT GRENDAL (60’s, short and stout) stands up from behind Marshal.

GRENDAL
A who.

EXT. SPACE

A sophisticated fighter ship flies through the cosmos, the Raiden.

INT. BRIDGE OF THE RAIDEN

XAVIER (23; long brown hair, savage disposition), MARCUS (21; bald, except for a braid of hair), and KASUMI (17; red hair, bitter temperament) stand before the slain CAPTAIN of the Raiden; each of them brandish a weapon.

Several bridge members lie dead.

GRENDAL (OS)
Three days ago, we received a message that the EarthStar Defense Command fighter XR-9, the Raiden, was taken over by its chief medical officer and minor crew members.

INT. KYLIE’S QUARTERS

KYLIE
The Raiden?

GRENDAL (OS)
Yes. The AngelBlue is to recover the Raiden, her crew and the man responsible.

INT. RAIDEN BRIDGE

NILES Petrovich (50’s) walks from behind Xavier, Marcus and Kasumi.

KYLIE and GRENDAL (OS)
Dr. Niles Petrovich.

INT. KYLIE’S QUARTERS

MARSHALL (OS)
We have uploaded the dossier on the situation. Keep in contact.

GRENDAL (OS)
He is to be returned alive.

Kylie nods.

KYLIE
Understood. Angelblue out.

INT. COUNCIL ROOM

Grendal turns back to the council.

GRENDAL
It’s only a matter of time, now.

A member of the council nods.

KYLIE (OS)
Kylie to Ryos.

RYOS (OS)
Go ahead.

KYLIE (OS)
Take us up.

INT. BRIDGE

The bridge crew ready themselves for surface procedures.

NYRISE
Conversion system ready.

The engines whine.

A tone sounds off.

NYRISE
Tanks blown and gravity well off-line.

JENO
Atmospheric shields off-line, readying deflector.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Several men and women run about the engine control room.

VENGAS Marsellies (30’s; but with frazzled gray hair) concentrates on a twin set of large blue and green rods suspended within an electrical field: The AngelBlue’s bio-mechanical engines

He taps at a console, a double beep sounds off.

INT. BRIDGE

NYRISE
Engine room reports all systems go.

RYOS
Rock it.

Nyrise taps out a sequence.

EXT. OCEAN-MIDDAY

The engines whine as the ship moves forward.

The dorsal and ventral fins rotate—to form wings as the ship hovers out of the water.

Main engines fire as several access ports close on the side of the ship.

EXT. SKIES-MIDDAY

The ship accelerates through the water and rises into the air.

The thrusters fire, pushing the craft up further.

EXT. SKIES-MIDDAY

The Angelblue’s shadow looms over the land as it continues to ascend.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie sits at the captain’s chair and stares at a small monitor.

Data flies by at a rapid pace.

She looks up at the main screen-the vastness of space looks back.

KYLIE
Go to Amber code.

COMPUTER VOICE
Amber code. Repeat, amber code. All personal to stations.

JENO
ECS shield, active.

Kylie stands and walks off the bridge.

Ryos follows.

INT. CORRIDOR

Amber lights flash on the sides of the corridor.

The door closes after Ryos.

RYOS
What's wrong?

KYLIE
Why would you think something is wrong?

RYOS
Well, for one, you placed us on amber code and activated the ECS. Something you normally do not do when we’re flying in controlled space.

She glares at him.

RYOS
Also, you've plotted a course without informing our navigator. I’m sure Nyrise will be a bit confused as to why.

KYLIE
Time is of the essence right now, Ryos. When we retrieve our crew members we will need to immediately depart for the Theta Quad.

RYOS
What about rearming?

KYLIE
For what reason?

He stops and points to the lights.

RYOS
I don't know, you tell me.

KYLIE
There is no need to delay our mission.

RYOS
Which is?

KYLIE
Which is what?

RYOS
Our mission?

KYLIE
I'll debrief everyone later. Nyrise--

NYRISE (OS)
Yes, ma'am.

KYLIE
Estimated time until we reach Platform Tango.

NYRISE (OS)
Four hours.

She continues down the corridor.

RYOS

KYLIE

EXT. SPACE

A space platform near a dish-shaped station: Platform Tango.

INT. HALLWAY

RILEY Quelin (25’s, slender, black hair, confident; Angelblue’s EarthStar Defense Command leison) walks down a crowded hallway.

INT. TAVERAN

He looks past the strange life forms that walk by and concentrates on two people who sit at a table next to a grand window.

ANGEL Yuiop (15, long black hair and petite; but with a large sword in front of her; Angelblue’s security/special functions) looks out the window.

VYRES Trewq (19; blond hair; medical officer) stares at a drink on the table.

RILEY
Mind if I join you?

VYRES
No, sir, have a seat.

Riley sits down.

RILEY
AngelBlue is on her way, they should be arriving soon.

VYRES
Great, I’ve had all that I can stand of this station.

Angel turns back to him.

VYRES
I grew up on places like this, the same thing to look at, day in and day—

A flash occurs out the window.

The station near the platform emits a beam into an empty portion of space.

A rainbow effect occurs and a ship flies out of the rainbow pattern.

VYRES
I will admit, the Stargate is different every time it opens, it—

An angry shout goes out in the background.

RILEY
They should close that gate, permanently.

Angel nods.

VYRES
What are you talking about? It’s a wondrous breakthrough in technology—bridging the distance from our quad to—

Two ALIENS with two heads each bicker with each other.

The three turn around as the aliens shove at each other.

One of the aliens places his hand on the chest of the other—an electrical pulse goes out—
The other alien sails across the room; blown back by the charge.

The alien fires an electrical wave around the room.

Everyone reacts to the situation.

A security alarm goes off and Angel jumps from the table.

Riley stands up and runs over to the injured alien.

Vyres slams his body to the ground as the energy wave encircles the room.

Angel stands in front of the one still standing and holds her blade out.

The alien laughs until she swings the sword at him.

He stops as several security guards surround him—each brandish a gun.

Riley leans over the other alien—his eyes closed, feet and hands in the air like a dead cockroach.

He shakes his head.

Angel and Riley sit back at the table as the crowd chatters once again.

RILEY
You were saying, Vyres?

Vyres looks up from off the floor.

EXT. SPACE

Angelblue approaches Platform Tango.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie reads a computer monitor

Ryos taps at a console.

MALE COMPUTER VOICE
This is Space Platform Tango, welcome Angelblue.

KYLIE
Open communications.

NYRIES
Opened.

KYLIE
Angelblue to Riley.

RILEY (OS)
Hello, Captain…glad you could make it.

KYLIE
I need the three of you back on board as soon as possible.

RILEY (OS)
We’ll take a jump pod.

KYLIE
Do it. Angelblue out.

RYOS
Jump pod?

Kylie continues to tap out a sequence of numbers on a console.

EXT. SPACE

A small pod zig-zags its way to the underside of the Angelblue.

INT. CORRIDOR

Sakura escorts Vyres, Angel and Riley from the cargo bay.

The three carry several bags each.

VYRES
What’s going on?

SAKURA
The captain’s called for a briefing; you’ll need to unpack later.

RILEY
Any information you can fill us in on?

SAKURA
The Commander asked me the same question.

Riley raises his eyebrows.

Angel looks ahead—unshaken.

Vyres’ face falls.

INT. BRIDGE

The entire crew stands at attention.

KYLIE
I have received a transmission from Earthstar Defense Command, requiring our assistance in returning a stolen ship and her captor.

She moves to the main viewer.

A graphic of the Raiden appears.

KYRIE
The Raiden, as you know, is a Class D Silpheed fighter with five times the offensive power of the Angelblue.

RILEY
Why is Earthstar sending a PLANET commissioned aquatic research vessel instead of a Transcendence class fighter?

KYLIE
Because of the circumstances surrounding her captor--

The image changes to Niles.

KYLIE
Dr. Niles Petrovitch…as you are all well know, is my creator. He is the instigator of the takeover.

Niles’ image fades back to the Raiden.

KYLIE
For all of his genius, I do not believe he has the ability to use the Raiden’s full offensive capabilities…nor do I think his plan is to cause destruction…at least not in the way we would know it.

Sakura looks to Vyres, a worried glance.

KYLIE
We have been given the Raiden’s shield codes and system overrides. The issue at hand is to find her, and bring her back in one piece--including Dr. Petrovitch.

RYOS
Why send his daughter?

KYLIE
I am assuming that Earthstar believes that he will listen to me…however, as human emotion is, I do not believe he will surrender until he accomplishes his task.

JENO
Which is?

KYLIE
The legacy of Shalla-ball.

EXT. SPACE

The Raiden approaches a planet.

Two large ships come into view.

INT. RAIDEN BRIDGE

Marcus sits at helm—with a dead crewman at his feet.

MARCUS
Two ships, incoming.

Xavier sits in the captain’s chair.

XAVIER
Master Petrovich, report to the bridge.

INT. LAB

Dr. Petrovich and Kasumi stands before a small fire.

Kasumi stands with her eyes closed.

NILES
You must feel its power.

XAVIER (OS)
Master Petrovich…

He grabs her hand and thrusts it into the flame.

She grits her teeth.

He pulls her severely burned hand out.

NILES
Now, do you truly feel the power?

She nods.

He walks out of the room.

Kasumi lets out a small yelp.

INT. BRIDGE

MARCUS
Two ships, they’ve tried several hails.

Xavier taps at a console.

NILES
We have no intention of answering them. Let’s ask them to step aside. Photonic beam.

XAVIER
Photonic beam, firing.

EXT. SPACE

A set of beams emanates from the Raiden, and cripples one of the ships.

The other ship fires a pulse which knocks the Raiden out of control.

INT. BRIDGE

Marcus flies from his chair.

XAVIER
I need a system report!

NILES
Return fire!

ALIEN VOICE (OS)
Che na, ktyes grytue.

Kasumi runs to the tactical station.

KASUMI
Bio-electrical engines are dead, whatever hit us…

MARCUS
We’re out of control!

NILES
I said return fire!

XAVIER
Photonic beam, firing!

EXT. SPACE

The double beam hits the other ship, its bow buckles and explodes.

The subsequent shrapnel destroys the other ship and damages the Raiden further.

The Raiden’s outer hull glows—as it enters the atmosphere of the nearby planet.

MARCUS (OS)
We’re going down!

EXT. SPACE

The Angelblue moves at an incredible speed.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Vengas climbs a ladder as Sakura looks up from below.

VENGAS
What can I do you for, Sakura?

SAKURA
I was wondering if, Chief Marsellies, if I could…

He extends a partition out over the electrical field between the cores.

VENGAS
Vengas.

He opens a panel and types.

SAKURA
Umm, Vengas, if I could get a rotation here in engineering?

VENGAS
I thought you were with life sciences?

SAKURA
I am, but,--but I’m willing to do more.

VENGAS
Tactical, a cybercist...AND she wants to be an engineer…going for it all are you, young one?

SAKURA
Yes sir, ummm, Vengas

He laughs as a spark snaps in front of him.

VENGAS
We’ll need to clear it through the captain, but sure, I could use you here.

She bows slightly.

SAKURA
Thank you, sir.

KYLIE (OS)
Sakura, report to the bridge.

She walks out of engineering.

EXT. SPACE

Debris flies by.

The Angelblue navigates through the debris field.

INT. BRIDGE

Sakura taps out at a console.

SAKURA
Remains of a ship, perhaps two.

RYOS
Lifesigns, any at all?

SAKURA
None…we—

KYLIE
Scan for the Raiden.

Sakura shakes her head as she taps out a sequence.

SAKURA
Nothing, I’ll try a more in-depth, I—

Her eyes widen.

SAKURA
Incoming craft.

Everyone looks at the monitor.

RYOS
How many?

SAKURA
Three.

KYLIE
Open comm.

STATIC

KYLIE
This is the AngelBlue of the Planetary Lunar Aerospace Navigation and Exploration Team, please respond.

ALIEN VOICE (OS)
Che na, ktyes grytue!

NYRIES
That doesn’t sound friendly.

RYOS
We can’t translate what they’re saying.

KYLIE
We don’t have time to wait for an algorithm, we—

SAKURA
Raiden found, bio-engine signature. Their engines are bleeding protomatter.

KYLIE
Where?

SAKURA
The planet.

RYOS
(to Kylie)
Crash landing?

KYLIE
Highly.

Kylie stands up.

KYLIE
Alien vessel…

SAKURA
They’re charging weapons.

KYLIE
Full shields, Jeno. Nyrise, take us down.

Jeno taps several keys.

JENO
Delfector and ion shields are on-line.

RILEY
Not recommended, Captain. This planet is not within the boundaries set up by the Vigaku Accords. Earthstar has no jurisdiction here.

KYLIE
Noted and overruled. We’ll take it up with the command council later about how stringent they want us to follow through with protocol.

EXT. SPACE

The alien ships fire multiple shots as the AngelBlue maneuvers its way to the planet.

INT. BRIDGE OF ALIEN SHIP

A multi-eyed CAPTAIN stares over a monitor screen.

The rest of his crew consists of gelatinous beings, except for simple hands.

Their hands emit small electrical pulses to the controls of the ship.

CAPTAIN
Rte garatica choc! (Ready, merion cannon!)

INT. ANGELBLUE BRIDGE

Kylie looks at a small monitor

KYLIE
Shield status, Jeno?

JENO
Full rotations, no significant damage.

KYLIE
Approach?

NYRISE
Atmosphere in twenty seconds.

EXT. SPACE
The alien ships fire a pulse at the Angelblue.

The shields arc, but the ship flies steady.

INT. ANGELBLUE BRIDGE

JENO
Deflectors at sixty-percent.

RYOS
A forty percent drop?

NYRISE
Entering atmosphere, planetary engines engaged.

Her console shudders.

EXT. ATMOSPHERE

The Angelblue vibrates and the shields violently arc.

INT. ALIEN VESSEL BRIDGE

CAPTAIN
Jei mi am. Am cani, amiou. Salouv ai!

EXT. SKIES—MORNING

Two of the pursuit ships break off.

The Angelblue moves into the atmosphere—with one alien vessel in close pursuit.

Lightning arcs against the shields.

INT. BRIDGE

Red light bathes all the consoles.

SAKURA
The planet’s atmosphere is heavily charged, our shields are acting like a lightning rod.

KYLIE
Sensors?

SAKURA
Minimal.

RYOS
There’s a chance that they may be affected the same way.

Kylie nods.

KYLIE
Launch ruse.

Jeno nods and taps several keys.

EXT. SHIP--NIGHT

A small probe shoots out as the Angelblue’s underside—a ruse.

Lightning continues to surge around the shields.

INT. BRIDGE

KYLIE
Drop shields, veer sharp, right; engines off.

Nyrise, Jeno and Sakura react to the commands.

EXT. ATMOSPHERE

The lightning ceases around the Angelblue, but the other ship continues to react to the atmosphere.

INT. ALIEN VESSEL

CAPTAIN
Retyi! (Fire!)

A hand sparks a panel.

EXT. SKIES NIGHT

Several rockets fires from the alien ship.

The rockets barrel down on the location of the probe.

INT. BRIDGE

The captain runs to the other side of the deck and watches the trajectory of the rockets.

One rocket passes through where the Angelblue appears on their consoles.

COMPUTER VO
Raqwes, testi’. (Target, lost)

The captain screams in an alien language.

EXT. ANGELBLUE--DAWN

The ship’s engines fold in and several doors open.--the rain continues to pour down.

An engine whines through the fierce wind.

INT. BRIDGE

JENO
Primary aquatic conversion, ready.

NYRISE
Closing in.

KYLIE
Approach speed?

A high pitched alarm sounds off.

NYRISE
Too fast.

EXT. OCEAN--DAWN

The ship approaches the water at an incredible speed.

Another alarm sounds.

COMPUTER VOICE OS
Structural shielding is off-line.

INT. BRIDGE

COMPUTER VOICE OS
Structural shielding is off-line.

KYLIE
Terminate audio warning.

The bridge falls silent as they all stare at the viewer.

A fierce vibration rocks the ship as it scurfs the surface of the water.

EXT. OCEAN--DAWN

Shrapnel flies off one of the wings.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

The engine crew barricade themselves between equipment as the floor fills with water.

VENGAS
Vengas to bridge, we have an H2O problem.

RYOS(OS)
Where are we taking in?

VENGAS
We’re trying to find that out.

A droning noise fills the room, followed by an electrical arc.

VENGAS
Primary reactor is powering down.

He runs across the engine room.

INT. BRIDGE

Red lights flash all over.

KYLIE
Depth?

NYRIES
Four thousand feet.

KYLIE
Dampener shields?

NYRIES
Non-functional.

KYLIE
Full stop.

EXT. WATER

The Angelblue floats in murky water.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Sakura runs into the engine room and meets up with Vengas--all the while he stares up at the engine systems.

VENGAS
Severe damage to the primary reactor.

SAKURA
Bio-engines?

VENGAS
Stressed, but they’re not injured.

Sakura looks around the room.

From her point of view, the room appears green and wire-framed, except for a white area—which pulses.

SAKURA
There!

She runs to the far side of the room.

SAKURA
Behind the core.

Vengas grabs a TECHNICIAN.

VENGAS
I need holding fields in sub-section 4.

The technician nods and runs.

EXT. FISSURE

The Raiden lies wedged and upside down.

A high pitch ping sounds off.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie sits back in her chair.

KYLIE
Attempt to link up with the Raiden.

Riley taps out a sequence.

RILEY
Connection made, main systems are off-line. Unknown how many people are onboard…or alive.

KYLIE
Nyrise, maneuver as close as you can to one of the ventral access ports.

She nods.

EXT. FISSURE

The Angelfish brings in its ventral fin.

The ship continues to drift down to the Raiden

KYLIE
Captain to Sakura.

SAKURA (OS)
Yes, captain.

A hatch opens up on the underside.

KYLIE (OS)
If you can tear yourself away from engineering, report to the cargo bay. Insertion procedure.

INT. CARGO BAY

Riley taps at a console as a large apparatus moves above the hatch.

The apparatus fires-forming a circular wall that passes through a shield covering the access hatch.

EXT. FISSURE-CONTINUOUS

The beam encloses a section of the Raiden’s hull.

Riley, Ryos Sakura and Angel jump down the magnetic shaft.

KYLIE (OS)
Locate Dr. Petrovich and the crew of the Raiden. It is highly unlikely that her captain survived the initial coup.

They float slowly down the tube.

EXT. SHIP

The three stand in the enclosed space on the top of the hull—they look at the exterior bulkhead door.

It opens with multiple clicks, clacks and a depressurizing groan.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie stares out at the monitor.

KYLIE
Ryos?

RYOS (OS)
We’re in.

KYLIE
Good, hurry up.
(to JENO)
Ping time?

Jeno’s monitor flashes in red: “ENVIORNMENTAL SHIELDS: OFF-LINE”

There is also a graphic of a ripple-like effect.

JENO
1000 and closing.

EXT. SKY—MIDDAY

The thunderstorm still rages out of control.

A ship flies by and fires a projectile into the water.

EXT. WATER

The projectile cuts through the water and then explodes—causing a distorted ripple through the water.

INT. BRIDGE

KYLIE
Code amber.

A klaxon sounds off.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Vengas maddeningly taps at controls as several technicians remove chips and circuitry from a circular apparatus—the primary core.

KYLIE (OS)
Vengas, I need maneuverability in six minutes.

He nods.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie stares blankly at the monitor.

KYLIE
Ryos, you have five minutes.

RYOS (OS)
Compliance.

INT. RAIDEN

Sakura—with a light apparatus over her implant leads the group.

Angel stands to her right, sword drawn.

The craft shudders.

RYOS
Not something I want to hear.

RILEY
The fun hasn’t started yet.

A gun flashes from the shadows.

MARCUS (OS)
Oh, I think the fun’s just started.

Riley turns to the barrel.

Angel reacts and is shot by Kasumi—who steps in from the darkness.

MARCUS
Who are you? Who sent you?

RILEY
Riley Quelin, EarthStar Defense Command.

XAVIER
So nice of you to accommodate us.

KYLIE (OS)
Angelblue to insertion team. What's going on down there, Ryos?

NILES (OS)
A familiar voice.

Niles steps in behind Xavier, who takes Angel and Ryos’ weapons.

KYLIE (OS)
Ryos, Riley, respond.

Kasumi disarms Sakura.

NILES
Kylie.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie looks to the floor.

KYLIE
Dr. Petrovich.

NILES (OS)
Is that all you have to say to me?

She looks at a monitor: PING TIME: 500.

INT. RAIDEN

The craft shudders again.

NILES
Have you come in the name of EarthStar or as my daughter?

KYLIE (OS)
You have violated several directives. I request that you come peacefully.

NILES
You don't understand, do you, Kylie.

KYLIE (OS)
Please comply.

The ship groans.

NILES
I am perfectly willing to accept my fate here…is your crew?

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie turns away from the others.

NILES (OS)
I am awaiting your decision…you have wounded.

She bites her lip.

INT. RAIDEN

Angel lies motionless.

NILES
I’m an old man with little to live for but what some would call a dream, Kylie.

KYLIE (OS)
Ryos, what’s the situation?

RYOS
Four of them, three armed.

KYLIE (OS)
Escort them back to the ship.

Marcus taps Riley on the shoulder with his gun.

RILEY
Looks like it’s going to be the other way around, Kylie.

Riley stares at him as he goes to pick up Angel.

The ship shudders again.

RYOS
The magnetic beam won’t hold forever.

Niles waves him on.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie stands next to Vyres as he watches tactical.

KYLIE
Ping time?

JENO
They’re on top of us.

KYLIE
Download her logs and relay the Raiden’s self-destruct codes. Destroy her.

VYRES
Destroy?

He moves away from tactical and follows her.

VYRES
What about the other survivors?

KYLIE
There aren’t any.

She walks off the bridge.

EXT. SHIP

The seven float up the magnetic beam, but sink a bit as it begins to fluctuate.

EXT. WATER

Another ripple surges through the water—it impacts the Raiden—causing it to shift.

INT. CARGO ROOM

The outer door secures.

Marcus walks to the front of the cargo bay.

He readies his gun and opens the door.

A beam throws him to the floor.

Xavier turns to Ryos.

Another blast goes off; Xavier falls to the ground.

Sakura and Riley—with Angel--tackle Kasumi.

Kylie steps into the room with a wrist-mounted weapon—Vyries stands behind her.

NILES
Kylie.

She lowers her wrist and the weapon retracts into her arm.

An explosion goes off and the ship shudders.

KYLIE
(to Riley)
Take Dr. Petrovich’s disciples to a holding cell.

Riley passes Angel to Vryies.

Ryos nods to Kylie and picks up Xavier.

KYLIE
Sakura, assist Riley and then return to the bridge.

She nods and helps up a semi-conscious Kasumi.

Riley drags Marcus out of the room.

The door closes behind them.

KYLIE
Hello, Father.

Niles crosses his arms and shakes his head.

NILES
A part of me felt that you would only come after me…that you would follow orders set about by the grand council.

KYLIE
For you created my inner-most being…you know what I must do.

NILES
Pity, I made you too human.

EXT. WATER

Another explosion occurs, the ripples ram against the ship.

JENO (OS)
We’re been detected.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie sits at her chair as the bridge crew reacts.

KYLIE
Let’s get out of here.
(to Riley)
Are our guests comfortable?

RILEY
They’re in a medical bay. According to Vyres, heavily sedated.

JENO
Deflector shields are off-line.

KYLIE
Understood. Vengas, do I have engine power?

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Vengas holds a cable against a panel as another engineer holds the other end next to the primary core.

VENGAS
One…two…three!

They plug the cables in and sparks fly, but the core activates.

VENGAS
Engine room to bridge…!

INT. BRIDGE

VENGAS (OS)
We’re ready…

A loud electrical pulse floods the bridge.

RYOS
Prepare to fly like Hell, Nyries.

NYRIES
Blast engines ready.

JENO
Antigravity boosters ready.

KYLIE
Surface.

EXT. WATER

The Angelblue rockets away as a ripple occurs again, followed by a rocket.

The Raiden self-destructs.

EXT. OCEAN SURFACE--MIDDAY

The Angelblue converts and flies into a noonday sun.

INT. BRIDGE

KYLIE
Where are our gatekeepers?

SAKURA
They haven’t detected us again…yet.

KYLIE
Vengas, I want to leave this planet, status?

VENGAS (OS)
I need more time--

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Vengas sits above the engines.

The engines whine and “purr” as an electrical beam dances between them.

INT. BRIDGE

VENGAS (OS)
Or a little help…I’d prefer both.

KYLIE
Understood. Sakura, report to the engine room.

Sakura taps at her console and runs off the bridge.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Vyries looks down at a console.

Xavier, Marcus and Kasumi lie unconscious.

Niles looks to his arm.

KYLIE (OS)
Bridge to Medical Bay.

A small compartment opens from a cybernetic limb; to reveal a yellow compound below.

VYRIES
Here, captain.

He turns his wrist, which releases the compound.

KYLIE (OS)
Report to the bridge.

The yellow compound turns into a dust cloud.

VYRIES
On my way.

It dissipates in seconds.

Vyries looks up to see Niles’ head fall to the side.

INT. HALLWAY

Sakura runs down a red light-soaked hallway.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Sakura looks up to Vengas as he climbs down the ladder.

The engines “scream”.

VENGAS
I need you to watch the engine support systems!

They walk to a console.

VENGAS
I need…umm, well…I, no…W-we’ll have to run the engines through the ship’s main life-support system.

SAKURA
What will that cause?

VENGAS
It will cause us to get the bloody hell off this planet!

KYLIE (OS)
All hands, evasive action!

EXT. SKIES--EVENING

Three ships chase the Angelblue.

They open fire.

INT. BRIDGE

JENO
Deflectors are still off-line

Nyrise banks the ship.

Kylie taps at a console.

EXT. SKIES

Pieces of the Angelblue’s armor blast apart as rockets impact the hull.

KYLIE (OS)
Vengas!

INT. ENGINE ROOM

A display reads: ENVIORMENTAL HAZARD DETECTED

Sakura taps out at the console.

SAKURA
EH!

Vengas stands under the engines.

VENGAS
What?

SAKURA
EH!

The ship shudders from an explosion.

VENGAS
Override!

Sakura taps out on the console.

A long tone sounds off.

The engines hum.

VENGAS
Bio-engines at full power.

He stands up.

VENGAS
Engine room to Bridge…full burn!

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie looks at the monitor showing the three pursuit ships.

KYLIE
Full burn.

Nyrise nods.

EXT. SKIES

The engines flare and engulf the lead ship within a plasma trail.

The Angelblue flies out of sight.

The other two ships bank away from the explosion.

EXT. SPACE

The ship trails clouds of matter.

INT. BRIDGE

KYLIE
Situation?

Riley taps out a sequence.

RILEY
Multiple system failures.

KYLIE
What’s the closest ship to our location?

RYOS
The R-9 is patrolling the outer limits…it would take her a day to reach us.

She stands up.

KYLIE
Contact her. Begin damage repair.

RYOS
Kylie?

KYLIE
You have the bridge, Ryos.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Sakura looks at the engines as they glow periodically.

SAKURA
Vengas, why are they doing that?

He looks up to them.

VENGAS
They’re still stressed, they’re not ready for maneuvers like that, they…

He looks closer.

VENGAS
Let’s do a test though…come on.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Niles lies restrained as Kylie stands a few feet away.

KYLIE
So, you believe--

NILES
Not believe, I have--

KYLIE
Shalla-ball?

He nods.

KYLIE
Was it nessecary to kill the crew of the Raiden?

NILES
No, it wasn't...I only instructed my pupils to tame the crowd, not kill them.

KYLIE
So, the question remains: What charges to file against you: treason? Mass murder? Willfull distruction of an Earthstar vessel?

NILES
Does it matter any more? What does it matter if I live or die now?

Kylie stares at him.

INT. BRIG

Kasumi lies against the wall and stares at Angel through a green holding field.

Marcus and Xavier sit against the wall.

MARCUS
How long are you going to play that game with her?

KASUMI
It’s not a game.

XAVIER
We won’t be in here for long.

Angel’s hand grips her sword.

XAVIER
My faith in Shalla-Ball shines…We will make it to bring her to us.

He rises up as Kasumi and Marcus chant.

XAVIER
When brought the mind and spirit, Shalla-ball becomes who she is meant to be—her life becomes her own, and not the host to the living parasites who feed from her.

Angel continues to stare.

MARCUS
Shalla-Ball.

XAVIER

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Vyres shines an instrument into Niles’ eyes.

Kylie stands off to the side as Vyres walk around Niles’ bed.

XAVIER (OS)
Shalla-Ball!

VYRES
Each planet has a life within it, a soul?

NILES
Each planet is alive--a being within--we are borne from them and the planet's lifeforce is used to keep us alive.

KYLIE
In theory, the lifeforce of the planet is sealed within a core, unlocked by a particular energy wave--creating life on a planet--but only at a precise time. That time has never been calculated.

NILES
Until now.

VYRES
Incredible. Well, that resets all theories of the origin of all life. I could write that thesis and retire to the lecture circuit.

NILES
I was able to deduce a planet within the theata quad with an active, shall I say, planetary embryo. We were on our way when we were attacked.

KYLIE
You mean when the crew found out your plans?

NILES
My plans, as you put it, are of a peaceful nature.

She turns to the monitor.

KYLIE
Peaceful...the Raiden had a 42 man crew…there are four of you remaining. Very passive, doctor.

NILES
I did what I had to do.

A system beeps short, staccato pulse.

Vyres reacts.

VYRES
You need to stay calm.

He frowns at Kylie.

NILES
(to Kylie)
Would you pass up a chance to see how life gives life?

KYLIE
Yes. He is to be kept restrained.

Vyres nods.

INT. BRIDGE

The bridge lies silent.

Ryos sits in the captain’s chair.

No one else sits on the bridge.

INT. QUARTERS

Kylie lies with her eyes closed.

Her hand moves up and then her body rises up, rigid.

INT. BRIDGE

Ryos lies on the floor, unconscious as a door closes.

INT HALLWAY

Kylie walks down the corridor, her eyes show no emotion.

She holds a gun in her hand.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Niles looks to the door.

It closes.

NILES
Terminate brig defense shields in one minute

KYLIE
Acknowledged.

NILES
Free me.

She walks to him and fires the weapon at the restraints holding him down.

Niles stands up and holds his palm out.

NILES
Give me the gun and initiate memory termination.

She hands the gun to him.

He runs from the room as she crumples to the floor.

INT. BRIDGE

Ryos staggers up and taps at the console.

Red lights flash and a computer screen reads AMBER.

COMPUTER VOICE
Code Amber…Repeat…code Amber.

INT. HALLWAY

Sakura, Nyrise and Angel—-all not in full uniform; but Angel carries her sword--run down the corridor.

INT. BRIG

Riley lies on the floor with a fatal wound in his side.

Niles stands before Xavier, Marcus and Kasumi.

NILES
There’s not much time.

He throws the gun to Xavier.

Marcus takes Riley’s weapon.

NILES
Let’s go!

INT. ENGINE ROOM

The bio-engines scream.

Vengas taps away at a console.

VENGAS
Engine room to bridge!

Vengas and several others fall to the side as the ship pitches to the right.

INT. HALLWAY

Niles moves his hand across a console—a computer beeps

NILES
We’re not close enough…we—

INT. BRIDGE

Nyrise taps at her controls as she tries to hold on.

NYRISE
I don’t have helm!

RYOS
What’s wrong?

NYRISE
I don’t know, commands are locked out.

RYOS
Ryos to Kylie.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Kylie’s access port (upper torso) lies open.

Vyres reads the technical data and taps at the controls.

VYRES
Medical Bay to Bridge, Kylie is injured, I--

INT. BRIDGE

VYRES (OS)
There’s extensive damage to her internal systems.

RYOS
Keep on it, Vyres. Nyrise, do we have control?

Helm control console comes back on-line.

NYRSIE
Got it!

Sakura’s attention goes to a flashing signal on her panel that reads: “Environmental Hazard”.

SAKURA
Permission to go to engineering, sir!

RYOS
Denied.

Nyrise works to right the ship.

Sakura leaves the bridge.

RYOS
Get back here!

Angel follows her.

INT. HALLWAY

Angel tackles Sakura to the ground as the ship still leans.

SAKURA
Let me go, there’s something going on…there’s—

Angel nods and pulls Sakura up.

They run in different directions.

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

A lightwing lowers down and the floor opens up.

XAVIER
In launch position.

Niles nods as he opens the hatch.

Another lightwing lowers down.

Kasumi climbs into the lightwing with Niles.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

The engines whine and ooze a caustic fluid—it eats away at the floor beneath them.

Vengas climbs above the engines.

VENGAS
What’s happening to you?

Sakura runs into engineering.

The engines buckle from the energy field.

The right one slams the platform Vengas sits on.

He falls to the floor as the engines bleed more and more and then fall on top of him.

SAKURA
Vengas!

His body melts away as he screams in agony.

Sakura jumps to a platform, but not before a splattering of the engine’s “blood” gets on her leg.

She stumbles to the ground.

INT. BRIDGE

The ship pitches wildly.

Jeno sits at his station.

NYRISE
We’ve lost bio-engines!

The ship shudders.

JENO
Entering Argool atmosphere.

EXT. SHIP

The ship enters the outer atmosphere—as it flies out of control

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

Angel runs into the room and pulls her sword back.

Xavier raises a gun.

Angel’s sword imbeds itself into Xavier and he falls to the floor.

Marcus fires at Angel but misses as the first lightwing launches and knocks him off balance.

His shot destroys the atmospheric controls for the room.

Marcus flies out of the launch bay as it depressurizes in the weak atmosphere.

Angel braces herself against the other lightwing’s launch apparatus.

Cargo hits Angel as it flies out into space.

The other lightwing breaks away from it’s holding arm and breaks the apparatus Angel hangs onto.

It falls and traps her.

EXT. SHIP

A small ship flies away from the Angelblue.

Its wings flash out as it flies away.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Kylie’s eyes open.

KYLIE
Where am I?

VYRES
Medical Bay, you had an ECM shock, something shorted out your primary systems—

She rises up and looks at her chest.

KYLIE
Where’s my uniform?

VYRES
Where do you think you’re going?

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

Kylie forces the door open and walks in.

She wears a “shell” (a technical bra, if you will) on her upper body.

The weak atmosphere rushes into the hall.

She runs to an unconscious Angel and frees her.

KYLIE
Angel, can you hear me?

She picks her up and runs for the door.

EXT. SKY—MORNING

The Angelblue spins out of control.

RYOS (OS)
All hands…!

It crashes into the ocean.

EXT.OCEAN—MIDDAY

The Angelblue floats upside down in the water.

INT. HALLWAY

Silent.

INT. BRIDGE

The bridge has a few inches of water on the “ceiling”

Ryos looks up to the floor.

He reaches out to Nyrise who nods.

NYRISE
Jeno?

Jeno lies still, his head lies in water

NYRISE
Jeno!

Ryos runs to him and rolls him over—his lips and face are blue.

RYOS
Do we have power?

He looks at all of the monitors on the bridge—all are out.

RYOS
Emergency lights only…let’s check for survivors.

Nyrise follows him off the bridge.

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

The room lies flooded.

Angel’s body floats with her head clearly above water.

Below the surface of the water, Kylie holds her up, her eyes closed.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Sakura holds onto a fallen support beam.

She looks at the bodies of four engineers and at the destroyed bio engines.

She stares at the remains of her right leg.

Ryos and Nyrise force their way through the wreckage.

Four bodies lie submerged in water.

SAKURA
Commander!

RYOS
Anyone left alive?

Sakura shakes her head.

Ryos walks to her.

RYOS
Are you okay?

SAKURA
Not in the best condition…I’m going to have a lot in common with the captain, eventually.

She smiles weakly.

Nyrise and Ryos help her to her foot.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Vyres looks around the damaged clinic and shrinks back as the light flickers off.

He turns on a small light and his eyes widen at the shadows all around him.

A thud occurs behind him.

He turns around and goes for a gun—which is not where it should be.

The thud grows louder.

The door to the medical bay opens and a powerful searchlight floods the room.

VYRES
I…I’m armed!

RYOS
Vyres!

VYRES
Commander?

RYOS
We’ve apparently lost the emergency lights.

Vyres rises up to see Ryos holding a light.

Sakura leans on Nyrise.

VYRES
What happened to you?

RYOS
We need to continue our search for the others.

He lowers Sakura down and Vyres holds onto her.

VYRES
I’ll stay here with her, I—

Ryos hands him a light.

RYOS
We’ll be right back.

Vyres kneels beside Sakura.

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

Kylie walks to the side of the room—with Angel on her shoulder and taps at a console—no power.

She turns and looks at the bay door—now on the ceiling.

She opens the panel and studies it through the rippling of the water.

INT. HALLWAY

Ryos and Nyrise stand outside of the Lightwing Bay.

RYOS
Last place on the ship to check.

She touches the door.

NYRISE
It’s cold.

RYOS
More likely, it’s flooded.

NYRSIE
What are we going to do?

Ryos stares at the blank console.

RYOS
Communications are out.

RYOS
Kylie! Kylie, can you hear me!

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

Kylie nods as she places her hand on the console.

An electrical arc radiates from her fingers to the console.

A blue field covers the bay doors.

She taps at the door.

INT. HALLWAY

The taps grow into loud, consistent “thuds”.

RYOS
Do you hear that?

NYRISE
O…p..Open the d..door.

RYOS
Kylie. Come on.

They apply pressure onto the door.

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

Kylie presses against the door.

The pressure breaks—and water flows out of the room.

The water knocks Nyrise and Ryos down.

Angel lies next to him.

Kylie closes the doors, her eyes grow dim as she pushes.

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

The field drops—and the water pours into the area.

INT. HALLWAY

Kylie crumples to the “floor”

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Kylie lies on a table and looks at the rest of her crew with her eyes barely opened.

VYRES
You have severe damage to all of your primary systems.

She lays back on the table.

RYOS
Will she be alright?

VYRES
By what I know of her design, her system should be able to repair itself…but knowing the Captain, she’s not going to stay down long enough to let it.

Sakura—leaning against a recovered Angel—nods.

NYRISE
So, what’s the plan now?

RYOS
We get this ship upright and we complete our mission.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Sakura leans up against a console and taps at the controls.

Angel stands with her.

RYOS (OS)
How much power can you give me, Sakura?

SAKURA
Limited...

INT. BRIDGE

RYOS
Give me all you got.

Nyrise stands on a chair and taps at the controls.

Ryos steadies her.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Sakura stands next to the primary reactor and looks back to Vengas’ body.

She stops her repairs and fall to her knees in tears.

Angel falls with her.

SAKURA
He’s gone and…and—

She looks to where the engines once were.

SAKURA
And I’m the only one left who—

Angel nods.

SAKURA
Help me up, let’s do it or die trying.

EXT. OCEAN—EVENING

The ship sinks into the water.

INT. BRIDGE

Minimal lights and only a few of the monitors are on.

Ryos steadies Nyrise still.

SAKURA (OS)
Tanks are blown…and we have minimal power. Take it slowly, Commander.

RYOS
Good work, Sakura.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Electricity arcs from various power conduits—everything’s jerry-rigged.

SAKURA
If you only knew…

INT. BRIDGE

RYOS
Nyrise.

EXT. UNDERWATER
Lateral engines fire off—and the ship rolls to an upright position.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Instruments fall to the floor.

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

Machinery floats and turns in the water of the still flooded room.

INT. BRIDGE

Nyrise sits in her chair.

RYOS
Surface.

Nyrise taps at her controls.

EXT. OCEAN

The ship slowly rises up and breaks the water.

INT. BRIDGE

Nyrise sits back at her station and taps out several keys.

NYRISE
I have helm control.

RYOS
Let’s check on the captain.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Kylie’s eyes lie closed.

NILES (OS)
When the planet is found, we must make contact with the lifeforce within; the nature of Shalla Ball.

KYLIE (VO)
I understand.

NILES (OS)
There will be great dances of fire…and in those dancing flames…you must reach out and touch her grace…

KYLIE (VO)
Touch her grace…

NILES (OS)

Vyres looks at her as she sits up.

He scans Kylie with a device.

VYRES
You’re still not fully operational.

She opens her eyes.

KYLIE
Motor functions?

VYRES
Forty-five percent.

KYLIE
Memory?

VYRES
Adequate.

KYLIE
Then I’m going back to the bridge.

VYRES
I have half of your systems running off the Angelblue’s already fragile system. You damaged your power cell when you saved Angel.

He tries to push her back down.

VYRES
Commander Jovankah has the situation under control.

KYRIE
I am going back to the bridge.

Ryos and Nyrise enter.

RYOS
How are you feeling?

KYLIE
I’m fine.

VYRES
No, you’re not.

KYLIE
What’s our status?

RYOS
Sakura and Angel are working to repair damage in the engine room. Nyrise has reclaimed helm control and I’m dying for a decanter of vodka, if you don’t mind.

Kylie nods as she stands up.

VYRES
Do I have to order you?

KYLIE
Vyres, I need you on the bridge. Monitor me from there.

Vyres throws his hands up in frustration as Kylie leaves Medical Bay.

INT. BRIDGE—TIME PASSES

The entire crew stands at Sakura’s station.

KYLIE
Bring it up, Lieutenant

Skaura taps at her console, a list of damaged systems scrolls across the screen.

Vyres’ eyes widen.

Of course, these are just the damaged systems on the bridge.

VYRES
Oh yeah, of course.

SAKURA
I’m not going to depress you further by showing engineering.

Vyres shakes his head.

EXT. PLAINS—NIGHT

NILES
Are you ready, young one?

Kasumi nods as the fire burns before her.

NILES
Then prove your loyalty to Shalla-Ball.

She thrusts her hand into the flame.

Her arm catches on fire.

She screams and frantically rolls on the ground.

Niles kneels to her.

NILES
You have little faith.

Kasumi nods and cries.

NILES
Come, there is much to do before the enlightenment.

EXT. OCEAN--AFTERNOON

KYLIE (VO)
Out of a crew of thirteen only five remain. I have lost all of my engineering staff, my defensive admin and a member of security.

The Angelblue floats on the surface of the water.

KYLIE (VO)
My intentions now are to get systems operational and to locate and bring back Dr. Petrovitch.

EXT. BEACH-SUNSET

Kylie and Ryos stand next to the water.

Everything lies quiet--no waves, no life.

Kylie kneels to the ground.

RYOS
What’s wrong?

She closes her eyes.

Ryos speaks, but no sound comes his mouth.

She looks out to the ship and then closes her eyes again.

She raises her hand and grasps at the air.

EXT. OCEAN--EVENING

The lightwing moves over the water at an incredible pace.

INT. LIGHTWING

Niles holds onto the controls of the craft as Kasumi sits in the rear seat and meditates.

EXT. OCEAN--EVENING

The craft dives into the sea.

EXT. OCEAN FLOOR

Several ribbons of energy flutter from the ocean floor.

A blue field surrounds the lightwing (an environmental field)

The cockpit opens.

Kausmi and Niles step out of the ship.

Kasumi looks at the shield with a look of terror on her face.

She then looks ahead at the ribbons.

NILES
Keep strong, we're almost there.

Niles' eyes glow at the sight of the rhythmic pattern of the energy.

NILES
She awaits.

Kasumi nods, pulls her hand back and closes her eyes.

She thrusts forward--but a pulse knocks her back.

KASUMI
I...I can't do it.

She runs back to the lightwing.

Niles walks around the ribbon and looks back to her.

He then thrusts his hand into the ribbon.

The ribbon reacts to him and expands into an electrical field.

Kasumi works to close the hatch of the lightwing.

The environmental field drops as she closes the hatch.

The ribbon's electrical field explodes in a wave that knocks the lightwing back.

INT. LIGHTWING

Kasumi slams her hands against the console.

KASUMI
Dr. Petrovitch!

EXT. OCEAN FLOOR

The ribbons vanish.

The lightwing drifts--its power off-line.

A crack breaks in the ocean floor--and it 'spider-webs'

EXT. OCEAN

The Angelblue moves slowly.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie sits in her chair, her legs lay limp.

Vryes stands at tactical.

Nyrise taps a key.

An image of the lightwing comes on screen.

RYOS
ETA?

NYRISE
Two minutes.

VYRES
The lightwing's power is off.

KYLIE
Ready magnetic beam.

EXT. OCEAN

Three beams emit from the ship and lock onto the drifting lightwing.

INT. BRIDGE

KYLIE
Ryos, Vyres, you're with me.

She strains to lift herself from her chair.

Ryos and Vyres move to carry her.

INT. LIGHTWING BAY

The room still has water on the floor.

The lightwing hangs--held in place by a magnetic beam.

The bay doors close.

Ryos stands with a large weapon in his hand.

Vyres walks with Kylie as she leans on him.

KYLIE
Dr. Petrovitch?

Ryos inspects the cockpit.

RYOS
It's the girl.

KYLIE
Get her out.

She walks to the ship and slams her hand through the glass.

It shatters.

Vyres looks at Kasumi as Ryos and Kylie lift her out of the ship.

KYLIE
How is she?

He checks her pulse.

VYRES
She's alive.

KYLIE
Good.

RYOS
We'll need her to find out what happened to the good doctor.

Kylie nods.

KYLIE
(to Ryos and Vyres)
Take her to medical bay.

They nod as Kylie limps out of the room.

EXT. OCEAN FLOOR

Smoke and fumes rise from the floor as it crumples and separates--an earthquake in progress.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Sakura leans over the remains of the primary core as she works on it.

She stops and stands up.

Her balance goes out and she falls to the floor.

INT BRIDGE

Kylie and the rest of the bridge crew look at the monitor.

RYOS
What is that?

The ship vibrates and throws the crew forward to the floor.

EXT. OCEAN

A ravine breaks open on the floor.

A whirlpool effect occurs which catches the crippled ship in its grasp.

INT. BRIDGE

NYRISE
Orders?

KYLIE
Go in and keep us steady…we don’t have the power to pull free.

Nyrise turns to her console--her eyes wide open in terror.

EXT. RAVINE

The dorsal wing shatters on the impact with the canyon.

INT. BRIDGE

Nyrise pushes against her console.

NYRISE
I can't do it!

KYLIE
Steady.

Nyrise’s eyes tear up as she frantically steers the ship through the current.

EXT. TRENCH

The ship rams its ventral wing and it's sheared off near the body of the ship.

INT. HALLWAY

Water floods the corridor as bulkhead doors close.

INT. MEDICAL LAB

Kasumi lies unconscious as Vyres hides underneath an examination table.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie sits at the other helm station and rapidly inputs commands.

The ship shudders and then quiets down.

The monitor screen shows nothing--a blank screen.

KYLIE
Status.

VYRES
Hull breech, ventral contrex.

KYLIE
Seal it.

Vyres taps at several controls.

VYRES
Umm…we’re…

His display shows a picture of the ship—all of it bathed in red.

VYRES
We’re under attack!

Ryos taps at a console.

VYRES
Hull breech, lightwing bay.

RYOS
What is the composition of the water?

KYLIE
It’s not water. Sakura, I need deflector shields up…now.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Angel pulls chips out of a system as Sakura runs several wires to each chip location.

SAKURA
We’re routing power from the offensive systems.

She moves to a console and turns on the system.

A warning tone sounds off.

SAKURA
Deflector engaged.

EXT. FLUID

The Angelblue cruises haphazardly—the fluid causes electrical arcs around the ship.

INT. BRIDGE

Vyres locks his eyes onto a blank space between his station and himself.

RYOS
Are we in the planet core?

Rylie nods.

NYRISE
Where’s the magma?

VYRES
(whisper)
Shalla-Ball.

KYLIE
No, it hasn’t happened yet.

VYRES
Shalla-Ball.

Kylie nods.

RYOS
What do you mean?

KYLIE
When a planet reaches a stage, the lifeform within it begins to radiate energy to the planet. What once had only primitive life and no motion is granted new life and power. This planet did not complete that junction…instead the lifeform is evolving to its unnatural form, Shalla-Ball.

RYOS
So, the natural order is the birth of life on the planet?

KYLIE
Yes. Vyres…I think its time to speak to our disciple.

INT. MEDICAL BAY

Kasumi sits in a chair, surrounded by Kylie, Ryos and Vyres.

KYLIE
What did he do?

KASUMI
He…he…touched it and…and…and vanished.

RYOS
Meaning?

KYLIE
He completed the awakening...the form within the planet read him and whatever he has told it…it has chosen to live its own life.

KAUSMI
What happens now?

KYLIE
You pray that the universe survives.

Kasumi shivers.

NYRSIE (OS)
Nyrise to Captain. Something’s out there and heading toward us.

KYLIE
On our way.
(to Ryos)
Bring her.

Ryos motions for Kasumi to get up.

INT. BRIDGE

The four walk back onto the bridge.

KYLIE
Let’s see it.

The monitor shows a pair of humongous eyes.

VYRES
What the hell is that?

The eyes track the ship.

KYLIE
Shalla-Ball. Full about!

EXT. FLUID

An incredibly huge human-like NYPMH—tethered by long cords--moves toward the ship.

The AngelBlue turns around and accelerates.

The “child” swings its arms through the fluid—the motion knocks the ship out of control.

INT. BRIDGE

Kasumi sits in the back of the bridge and covers her eyes in fear.

RYOS
A baby?

The ship vibrates with an incredible force

KYLIE
The inner life force of this planet.

RYOS
Inner?

KYLIE
Nyrise, engines to full!

NYRISE
Aye.

EXT. FLUID

The ship moves with the tremendous forward wave.

It heads for a rocky outcropping.

INT. BRIDGE

KYLIE
Lateral thrusters.

Nyrise taps several keys.

EXT. FLUID

The ship moves up and slows down—although it still lies on a collision course.

It rams the outcropping—the shields deflect the blow but the ship still feels the impact.

INT. ENGINE ROOM

Water pours onto the floor.

Sakura hobbles to another system.

SAKURA
Same area as before, they--

The back end of the engine room buckles.

Angel grabs Sakura as the back wall explodes.

They run out of the area.

A bulkhead closes behind them.

EXT. FLUID

The Angelblue floats next to the outcropping—its shield continuously arcs a blue electrical bolt.

INT. BRIDGE

Sakura sits at a station.

SAKURA
We’re going to need more power…and I’m going to need to get back to the engine room…somehow.

Ryos stands behind her.

RYOS
What are our power reserves?

SAKURA
Non-existent.

RYOS
Siphoning power from offensive systems?

SAKURA
There wasn’t a lot to go on…that’s what’s running the shields right now.

KYLIE
We need more power.

Ryos nods.

NYRISE
What do you have in mind?

KYLIE
We’re going to power miser.

EXT. FLUID

The shields continue to arc as the fluid absorbs power.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie stands—her hair partially frozen.

Nyrise sits at her station. She wears a sophisticated suit—for use in the vacuum of space.

A console reads ENVIORNMENTAL WARNING: LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM OFF-LINE.

Everyone else on the bridge wears the same uniform as Nyrise.

KYLIE
Let’s get out of here.

Nyrise taps at her console.

NILES (OS)
Kylie…I thought you were dead.

Kylie stares ahead at the monitor—at the child.

The Angelblue’s engines fire up.

EXT. FLUID

The child looks at the ship.

NILES (OS)
So, you are to be the first to witness this great day.

KYLIE
I suppose you expect books to be written of this?

NILES (OS)
Not exactly…we have gained much together, Shalla-Ball and I…we will go forth and become the god of the universe.

KYLIE
God or great destroyer?

The child’s eyes blink.

NILES (OS)
Do you not respect the power before you?

KYLIE
No.

NILES (OS)
No matter.

EXT. PLANET

The planet breaks apart as the atmosphere pulls away and lifts the ground along with it.

EXT. SPACE

The planet explodes—destroying the nearby moons.

The core remains and pulses with energy.

The core ruptures and explodes.

Angelblue flies away from the core.

INT. BRIDGE

Kasumi shrieks in terror.

KASUMI
He’ll destroy everything! He is God now!.

Ryos grabs Kasumi and throws her into a chair.

She looks into his eyes and falls off the chair.

KASUMI
He is God…

She scuttles into a corner of the bridge.

Kylie turns to her and then back to the monitor.

EXT. SPACE

The child grows and its body alters to a black robed entity without a face.

Electricity surges around the entity.

INT. BRIDGE

Nyrise’s eyes stare in shock.

KYLIE
Do we have communications?

NYRISE
Yes.

She looks at the monitor.

KYLIE
Broadcast on all EarthStar and PLANET frequencies…

EXT. SPACE

The entity vanishes from sight.

KYLIE (OS)
We’re under attack.

EXT. SPACE PLATFORM TANGO

The Stargate opens and three ships fly through.

INT. COMMUNICATIONS ROOM

A radio OPERATOR stares at his console.

He adjusts a small headphone over his ear.

OPERATOR
This is EarthStar Defense Command Deep Space Platform Tango, I did not understand your entire message, please repeat.

An OFFFICER passes by as the operator mutters under his breath.

OFFICER
What is it?

OPERATOR
It’s a recorded message, I can’t get it to come in clearly though.

The officer taps at several keys.

OFFICER
It’s recorded as a high priority.

He looks up at a large monitor.

OFFICER
Put it through, main viewer.

The screen changes from tactical data about the Stargate to a recording of the Angelblue’s bridge.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie stands amidst a frozen bridge—everyone still wears environment suits.

KYLIE
This is the Planetary Lunar Aerospace Navigation and Exploration Team Aquatic Research vessel, Angelblue with a distress call.

INT. COMMUNICATIONS ROOM

The officer stares at the partially destroyed bridge.

KYLIE (OS)
I am sending all compiled data concerning out missions, we—

The monitor fades as power lowers throughout the room.

An alarm goes off.

OFFICER
Comm room to central, what’s going on?

EXT. SPACE

The entity flutters toward the station and waves its hands in front.

KYLIE (OS)
We have encountered a new life form, one that possesses awesome power.

A cosmic wave surges forth and smashes into the platform.

INT. HALLWAY

The corridor implodes.

INT. COMMUNICATIONS ROOM

The room disintegrates as if it was sand-blasted.

KYLIE (OS)
Do not attempt to make contact. Your only hope is to get away…away from…

EXT. SPACE

Debris floats where the platform once was.

EXT. SPACE STATION

A heavily armed defense station in Earth orbit.

INT. COUNCIL ROOM

The Security Council stands in front of an image of Kylie.

KYLIE
Away from Shalla-Ball.

MARSHALL
So, he succeeded.

Grendal moves closer to Marshall.

GRENDAL
Did you ever doubt him?

Marshall shakes his head.

MARSHALL
Is everything ready?

GRENDAL
Of course.

EXT. SPACE

An incredible ship looms in the distance.

EXT. SHIP

The ACROPOLIS—a tremendous carrier ship.

INT. LAUNCH BAYS

Several large Silpheed Gunships (fighter craft with large auxiliary batteries beneath them) lower down into space via guide beams.

GRENDAL (OS)
The Acropolis will intercept and the fleet will incapacitate the entity.

A PILOT waves to the HANGER CREW from inside his ship as it lowers.

EXT. SHIP

The fleet flies away, engine on full burn—en route to Shalla-Ball.

EXT. SPACE

AngelBlue moves at a slow pace.

INT. BRIDGE

Enviornmental conditions are normal.

Nyrise taps at her controls.

Vyrise wipes the sweat from his brow.

VYRISE
I’m not getting a response from Tango.

RYOS
Destroyed?

Kylie nods.

RYOS
Where’s he going?

KYLIE
Back to his masters.

EXT. SPACE

The Acropolis and the fleet move toward Shalla-Ball.

INT. SILPHEED 1

The SILPHEED PILOT taps at his flight controls.

SILPHEED PILOT
All craft check in.

A long tone sounds off.

EXT. SPACE

The fleet branches off into a wide circular pattern.

SILPHEED PILOT (OS)
Ready particle beam, overrun frequencies and prepare to engage.

All craft charge up their weapons.

The Shalla-Ball entity approaches them.

INT. ACROPOLIS BRIDGE

A vast command room with multiple stations and CREWMEMBERS

The ACROPOLIS CAPTAIN looks at the entity.

ACROPOLIS CAPTAIN
Target sighted. Fire containment net.

EXT. SPACE

Each ship fires a beam of light at the creature.

A “laser net” crisscrosses around the ships, surrounding the entity within.

The Acropolis fires a massive blast at the entity.

The blast engulfs the entity in white light.

INT. ANGELBLUE BRIDGE

Kylie and the rest of the crew stare at the sight of the capture.

RYOS
What are they doing?

KYLIE
Adjust course, keep us away.

Nyrise taps at her keys.

KASUMI
Will they all die?

KYLIE
Yes.

EXT. SPACE

The laser net buckles as the entity pulsates.

A blast fires from the net and squarely nails the bridge of the Acropolis.

The beam irradiates the ship.

The ship floats lifelessly.

INT. SILPHEED

The pilot grasps his controls and attempts to hold steady.

He sweats and screams as a red light engulfs his craft.

EXT. SPACE

The laser net breaks apart as each Silpheed explodes simultaneously.

The entity changes form, to a black mist that spreads out far and wide.

EXT. EARTH ORBIT

Beyond the Space Station, a battleship, The Yoshimitsu A leaves Earth Orbit.

INT. COMMAND ROOM

Grendal studies communications from the Acropolis.

MARSHALL (OS)
What happened?

GRENDAL
Destroyed.

Marshall stands behind Grendal, he wears a flowing red and black robe.

MARSHALL
Then, he is on his way here.

GRENDAL
Of course.

MARSHALL
Then I shall begin the ceremony.

Grendal nods as he looks to the console: A large talisman sits next to a keypad.

EXT. SPACE

The AngelBlue approaches Halley’s Comet.

EXT. COMET

As it approaches, a structure comes into view within the comet’s head.

EXT. COMET SURFACE

The Angelblue docks onto an apparatus with pulls it into the structure.

INT. CORRIDOR

Commander KRIS NOSVILLIC (34; long brown hair, a young look to his face) stands next to an airlock door.

The door hisses and opens.

Kylie steps from the door, followed by her crew and Kasumi.

She salutes him.

KRIS
We’ve been trying to contact you, what’s happened?

KYLIE
Everything.

They walk down the hallway.

KRIS
Casualties?

Angel shoves Kasumi down another corridor.

KYLIE
Riley, my engineering staff and Jeno.

Kris looks back at Sakura as a MEDICAL TEAM carries her down another corridor

INT. MAP ROOM

A logo of the word: P.L.A.N.E.T. floats above Kylie, Ryos and Kris.

Kylie taps at the keys and a star field appears all around them.

KYLIE
My suspicions are that he is going to Earth.

The starfield maps the Halley comet, the Shalla-Ball mist and Earth.

KRIS
Why?

KYLIE
Because he was instructed to.

RYOS
What about the entity? Would it not try to overtake him?

KYLIE
No, because at this point, it is merely a child…

KRIS
A child with destructive powers.

Kylie nods.

RYOS
I suppose you suspect the Security Command Council?

KYLIE
Why else would they send me?

RYOS
Have you alerted The Vice Command?

KRIS
We can’t contact Earth.

EXT. SPACE

Debris floats within a black mist.

An insignia floats by that reads: Starlancer.

KRIS (OS)
I’ve sent the Raven and the Starlancer to run the message, perhaps help in any way they can, but I haven’t heard from them.

The mist vanishes.

KRIS (OS)
How long will it take that thing to reach Earth?

The silhouette of a woman appears.

KYLIE (OS)
I don’t know.

A ghostly woman in black armor looms as Earth shines in the distance.

A GONG sounds.

A PIPE plays.

EXT. YOSHIMITSU

A male voice CHANTS

INT. ROOM

Grendal stands with a talisman in front of him; his eyes flutter as he chants.

Marshall sits with his hands raised up to the sky.

EXT. HALLEY’S COMET

The comet moves swiftly through space.

INT. CORRIDOR

COMPUTER VOICE
Attention, P.L.A.N.E.T. High Command Alert. Situation Critical. All craft launch.

YOUNG MEN and WOMEN run down the corridor.

EXT. BASE

Various ships rise out of the base.

The AngelBlue launches and takes the lead of five ships.

INT. BRIDGE

Kylie stands in front of the monitor.

NYRISE
We have a visual, it’s the Yoshi.

INT. ENGINEERING

Sakura sits beneath two new bio-engines and smiles as they dance within an electrical field.

SAKURA
This should keep you babies happy.

She nods at a massive device below—it emits a large static field.

KYLIE (OS)
Sakura.

SAKURA
We have full engine power.

INT. BRIDGE

KYLIE
Good.

NYRISE
Shields are at minimal.

RYOS
No power to offensive weapons.

KYLIE
We won’t need any.

EXT. SPACE

The female warrior glides past Mars.

INT. ROOM

Grendal and Marshall stand with their heads bowed down.

A haunting moan fills the room.

EXT. SPACE

AngelBlue breaks away from the fleet.

INT. CARGO BAY #2

Angel stands with Kylie in front of an enhanced lightwing craft.

RYOS (OS)
I don’t like what you’re doing, Kylie.

KYLIE
It’s not my choice, Ryos.
(to Angel)
Let’s go.

EXT. SPACE

Shalla-Ball floats before the Yoshimitsu.

FEMALE VOICE
You do not command me.

INT. ROOM

Grendal and Marshall hold their hands out.

FEMALE VOICE
I am the supreme being…I am all life incarnate.

GRENDAL
We are your true masters.

FEMALE VOICE
I think not…and all of your powers are of no significance to me.

EXT. SPACE

The P.L.A.N.E.T. ships move past the Yoshimitsu—and onto Earth.

The Angelblue comes to a stop.

The lightwing moves away from the ship.

INT. LIGHTWING

Kylie taps at a console as Angel controls the ship.

KYLIE
Dr. Petrovitch, do you hear me?

Angel stare back at her.

KYLIE
Father, come in.
(to Angel)
Move us in closer.

EXT. SPACE

The lightwing accelerates as the female entity moves closer to the Yoshimitsu.

INT. ROOM

The woman appears before Grendal and Marshall.

She lifts her head and they kneel before her.

She laughs as the men fall to their knees in unknown pain.

EXT. YOSHIMITSU

The lightwing docks onto the side of the ship.

INT. CORRIDOR

Angel and Kylie run down the corridor.

INT. ROOM

Grendal and Marshall hang lifelessly in the air.

Kylie and Angel run in.

Angel flashes a sword blade.

The woman throws the bodies at them.

Both women evade and move towards her.

Kylie reaches out as the woman sends a burst of energy from her body.

The room disintegrates.

EXT. SPACE

The Yoshimitsu vanishes from sight, as does every other ship.

EXT. BEACH—MORNING

Kylie looks out at the calm, dead, water.

KYLIE
What is this place?

NILES
I never told you about it, did I?

Niles stands a few feet away from her and looks along with her.

KYLIE
No.

He steps into the water.

NILES
Of course not, would you have understood it?

She looks at the calm water.

KYLIE
I do not think you understand it yourself.

He turns to her, his finger shakes “no” to her.

NILES
Not exactly. You see, I was a part of a following; one that even the highest members of EarthStar were ordained to. We, the believers, made it our journey to witness the rescue of our Goddess from her servitude.

SHALLA-BALL, (18, wears a long white dress which barely covers her body) stands above them on the upper portion of the beach. She carries a long glaive.

NILES
You see, here is the awakening of her power. I guided her to a planet that she could help to recreate—to bring back the power that once flowed through Earth. She brings her followers to this place of solitude.

Kylie steps toward the ocean.

NILES
And with a strike from her glaive…the world become changes from silence abound to a new life.

KYLIE
And what of Marshall and Admiral Grendal?

Niles smirks.

NILES
They were not believers as I am…they could never accept the responsibility that I have burdened myself with.

Shalla-ball sliently walks behind them.

NILES
I shall lead her.

He turns to her stare into his eyes.

Kylie turns as Shalla-Ball raises the glaive and strikes Niles in the chest.

His body jumps and spasms.

He staggers back and falls to the ground.

Kylie stares down at Nile’s open chest—he himself, is a machine.

Shalla-Ball turns to Kylie.

KYLIE
Why?

She lowers her glaive.

SHALLA-BALL
He was not a creature of heart, he is not my chosen.

Kylie kneels next to him—his eyes lie closed.

SHALLA-BALL
You posses strength within you, unlike any lifeform I have encountered before.

KYLIE
I am a machine.

SHALLA-BALL
Aren’t all life forms but machines?

Kylie stares at her.

KYLIE
Yes.

SHALLA-BALL
The ones within the sky? Were they are of yours?

Kylie nods.

SHALLA-BALL
I was to be the life for others…and I shall be again.

She raises her glaive up to the sky.

SHALLA-BALL
You will be my light...to find the others like me.

Kylie’s eyes close as a flash of light engulfs her.

EXT. SPACE

The ships reappear, Shalla-Ball is gone.

INT. MEDICAL LAB

Ryos, Angel, Nyrise, Sakura, Angel and Kris loom over Kylie’s body.

Vyres taps at a computer.

VYRES
I’m been trying to revive her, but—she’s not responding to anything.

She opens her eyes and looks at them.

KYLIE
Vyres…scan my internal systems.

She closes her eyes and winces in pain.

Vyres moves a scanner over her.

KRIS
What is it?

RYOS
What’s happening to her?

VYRES
I don’t know, I--

He takes a laser scalpal and points it at her arm.

Her arm bleeds.

Vyres jumps back.

Sakura looks down at her artificial leg and then back to Kylie.

KYLIE
What is it?

VYRES
You’re human…or at least a part of you is human and…something else…

SHALLA-BALL (OS)
Do you remember how you trained for this enlightenment?

EXT. BEACH

Kylie stands on the beach, with Shalla-Ball beside her.

SHALLA-BALL
We are of the same.

KYLIE
I never trained for this?

SHALLA-BALL
