Cathy Michel called me this morning. She wanted everyone to know that she is still alive and keeping up the struggle. She has given my phone number to her caregivers so that in the event something happens, they can call me and let the BC community know.
Cathy is unable to sit at the computer and work or even read at this time, but she wants everyone to know how much she loves us all collectively and many of us individually as well.
I'd been thinking about Cathy just a day or so earlier and was certainly glad to hear from her. She laughed and joked much as she has done in the past, but things like that take a lot of effort from her, and she cannot sustain it. She suffers from COPD and is on constant oxygen at a high dose, but the most annoying thing seems actually to be allergic rhinitis. I know that one well.
Keep Cathy in your thoughts and, if you like, in your prayers. She won't mind.

When I saw this post pop up with just the subject line, my heart lurched with a 'oh no!!' Fortunately the message did not reach the levels I had instantly feared.
Please pass on my love, best wishes, and yes, prayers. While we never corresponded directly, Cathy has over the past years left some very lovely comments on some of my postings, ones which brought smiles and definitely enhanced the motivation to keep typing away. Timing
of your post. For me the first one was 02:47 and the second 05:06. For a good chunk of us that is the middle of the night plus Sunday night/Monday morning is a slow time.
Please give people a bit more of a chance to respond before reacting.

Not every comment is going to engage, I would never expect that, especially for blogs.
Comments to stories have a far better possibility of engagement, especially from an thankful author.

Cathy was the first one to Edit and Post my stories, encouraged me to allow stories be posted on BCTS. She took the heat for me when Almost a Girl was raked over the coals by the readers. She was a Princess standing against the nay sayers. She edited and posted several other stories for me. For those of you who think I'm a ..... blame Cathy, Monique, and a few others I'm still here.
Cathy sweety, wish I could return the friendship, the favors. What I am able to do is return the love you shared with me. Hugs hon.
