There's a few more weeks before my NHS complaint is due to be resolved, but I'm beginning to have doubts that it will be resolved - at least in one of the scenarios that I would accept. I won't speculate further but will let everyone know what their answer is when I receive it.
Unsurprisingly I have heard nothing from my GP but I was called to the local general hospital for a mammogram, confirmation that my gender marker has been changed. The all-clear letter arrived a few days ago; it wasn't a definite as there's breast cancer in the family.
One of the first things I did after changing my name (and medical records) was to ask the dreaded HMRC tax office, formerly the Inland Revenue, to update my tax account. A few days ago I received a phone call from HMRC and had confirmation in writing yesterday - the government databases have now been modified. An immediate follow-up was to contact my pension folk to correct their records.
Regardless of my medical transition, my legal and social transition is well underway.
(Oh, and I'm writing again!)

Breasts after Hormones?
Did your breasts develop after you started using Estradiol .1 patches? The Doctor told me that Estrogen by shots gets mostly removed by your liver and kidneys. In patches it goes right into your bloodstream. I started my transition in my 50s. Good luck

I'm not on HRT as yet, that's a part of my major complaint. I'm just blessed with a pair of full natural A cups. The mammogram team knew I was T with limited growth but that didn't concern them at all as I hit the criteria: Female, over 50 & family history. As I've had the all-clear I'm due back there in 3 years, when I'll be 60.

Writing again!!!
Well hooray. I've covered two prequels, ten Tammys, and four UGs all in a week. I really like to read. Since then I've been suffering through withdrawal.
I feel for your battles with the medical bureaucracy. Even if it's like tilting with windmills. But you're writing again !

Yes. I also got quite a thrill when I saw that Shiraz said she has started writing again. I am so looking forward to when Tammy is at the racing track. Mind you, I was quite happy to see other stories posted in the mean time since we first heard what Tammy would be up to.
And I'm so so glad to see that Shiraz's life is going reasonably well.
I have a mammogram
scheduled for early next month, I have forgotten how many I've had but it doesn't get any more comfortable, it's like catching your boobs in a filing cabinet.

Unfortunately I have the additional fun of needing implants as I am only like a 34AA (at best) without them and on my frame that is pretty much invisible. OTOH, any lump on such a tiny bit of breast tissue will show up like a sore thumb.
Consequently, with the implants, it is more like a having a taffy machine pulling on it (as they pull the breast tissue outwards, separating it from the implant) before flat ironing it *ugh*. Luckily it is only every other year. I had to have them replaced last year as they had burst and luckily I was not due this year as scar tissue from the op will interfere with reading the mammogram.
A royal daft pain to say the least.
