Lots of excitement in my life just now. I've been cautiously thinking about how I might De-transition, and what good that would do? It might cause a lot of harm by making my housing situation and income uncertain. I rather enjoy not having to deal with men as a man. I don't want to lose that. My Breasts aren't that large, but I do not wish to try to pee standing up, even with my little camping funnel.

Then this afternoon I have an email from Amazon welcoming me to the Amazon Author Center. I have approached the local University, PSU PDX about auditing some classes. One of them is "Publishing a Book" and the other was to be "Writing Fiction". I had not approached Amazon about publishing and I am wondering where that came from. Does Amazon have a line to this University?

At any rate, I do not plan to pull my stories to please Amazon. I have no legal representation but I wonder if I should?

Fortunately, it seems that none of the floods around me should be an issue.

Hi Gwen, I don't know your

Hi Gwen, I don't know your story. Do you think transitioning was a mistake? Were you pushed into it as a "cure all" by doctors, only to find out it wasn't. I have heard that detransitioning trans folk get a lot of "stick" from the community. Some think it invalidates what they have done. Which is nonsense as we are all individuals.

The Psychological Community is Evil

Before 2003, was a very mild effeminate man who acted out in a very masculine way and I now understand that I was trying to hide my true self. I was never anything but heterosexual, never had a homosexual thought, though was often accused of it. I do not know if it was spread genetically. One of my ancestors was an artist.

When the Psych. folk got hold of me, they drugged me and said that I was a woman emotionally. Years later, away from them and off the drugs, I hate them. I tried to sue them but found out that they have very deep pockets and threatened to have me committed to a state institution and I believe they could have done had I not shut up. They cost me everything that I valued.

However, as I said before, it is much nicer living as a woman and not having to deal with men as a man.

That is really sad. It would

That is really sad. It would be easier to up sticks and start living as a man elsewhere. The prblem is if you still look effeminate as a man you will get a whole new set of problems. As you said dealing with men as a man is whole different thing. I really don't evey your choice.
Could you perhaps try it for a few days to see how it feels?

Self Identity

I don't have a clue about the Amazon issues, but it does seem as though online entities are getting more and more intrusive about digging their hooks into everything anyone does over the internet these days.

As far as the transition/de-transition issue goes, in the end only you have the right to determine who or what you should be or how to live your life. In the end, be yourself. Be who you need to be for yourself first of all. The great unwashed masses of the general public can go to Hell, they are not in your skin and have no right to tell you anything. Friends and family can be more painful to deal with, but even they have no right to judge you or expect you to live your life to please them.

Take the time to think about the pros and cons carefully and then do what is right for you and tell everyone else to piss off if they cannot accept that. It hurts when those you care about refuse to accept you for yourself, but living in emotional agony to satisfy outside parties will only keep hurting you more and more.

Hi Gwen,
It seems, that Amazon's different branches in different countries have different policies, but none of them can publish works, that have been claimed and copyrighted by the author.

I recommend that you just put that at the beginning of any manuscript, even if you publish here, as it is too easy to just copy and paste from the printer friendly version here.

I went so far to even get a French ISBN account in my legal name as publisher for my books under Monique S, each of them has ISBNs (that are free in France for self publishing) for each edition: e-book and paperback. I used that to prevent a copycat in the Netherlands, who was trying to sell illegal copies. In some countries Amazon's employees might be sloppy in their checking on that.

Protection of copyright

erin's picture

There's a blanket copyright notice on BigCloset, saying that all stories are copyright to the authors unless otherwise announced in the story itself.

Over the years, we have occasionally had to send cease and desist orders to wildcat publishers who mostly just assumed that stories on the net were free. A handful were trying to make money off someone else's property. It hasn't happened for more than a year since Amazon, Smashwords, Lulu, et al. have gotten better about screening. But it does still happen.

Hugs,
Erin
