How many of you take nitroglycerin pills? How many carry your prescription with you? If my experience is any indicator, you'd better start.

I went out to eat yesterday, secure in the knowledge that I had my Nitro Pills with me, in case of angina.

Later on I happened to notice they were no longer in my purse, so I started backtracking. Knowing they were in a shiny aluminum case made me sure they would be spotted.

When I went back to the restaurant (part of a national chain, btw), they'd found them! But seeing the word "Nitroglycerin" on the bottle, they were afraid it was a bottle of explosives! So they called the police!

The police, it seems, were smart enough to know they weren't explosives. But they WERE drugs requiring a prescription and as I didn't have that proof on me, they confiscated them!

Now I wasn't worried about the pills, they are really cheap. But a well-machined aluminium holder for those itty-bitty pill bottles the pills come in are getting hard to find. The ones sold now are cheaply made and even with an o-ring gasket still let moisture in if in a humid environment. I know I can get it back from the PD, but the paperwork will be a hassle. (Knowing the DEA, deliberately so.)

I ran into another hassle over pills at the grocery store. We went there to buy some generic Mucinex for a bad head cold I have. Found a nice large bottle (60 count) of the store brand so I headed for the checkout. And couldn't buy them! All because I didn't have my DL! This a non-controlled (aka OTC) pill but it was put on the controlled drug list anyway. Really, what is this world coming too? I suspect it's all to do with killing off the seniors as fast as possible. Not through the lack of needed medications, but the shear frustration!
