Feels a lot like 2021 so far!
There's no new Gaby today - well you did get a multiple dose over the last week or so.
I hope you all got through New Year okay, even more so than Christmas it can be a lonely experience, everyone else seems at least to be having a better time than you regardless of your level of sobriety. Its easy to get maudlin and introspective, less easy to remain positive. Me, well i'm not really a party person, so it was a couple of drinks to see in the new year, a few minutes watching everyone ekses fireworks then off to Maddy's cave to sleep. Somehow i avoided resolutions, total drunkeness and too much deep thought, an uneventful passing of the years.
It has become a bit of a tradition with me to do a short bike ride on January one, with a damp start to the day it was after lunch before i wheeled my steed out this time. My friends up in Sheffield had each done 40km plus rides in the morning so whilst its not a competition i found myself compelled to go further so my short ride got a bit longer, well 52km and a bit to be exact, nothing too strenuous, just another trip to Bath with a longer route for the return. On my return it was time to get cooking - lamb stew this time, served in a giant Yorkshire pud - excellent and enough left for todays 'supper' too.
So to today. I had a long list of jobs to do, laundry, bike maintenance etc, etc. Well i got the washing done, clothing first then bed clothes and somewhere in there i changed from a blonde to a red head at which point i lost the plot a bit and instead of knuckling down to the essential velocipede work i ended up getting ready to go shopping - go figure. Of course, by the time i'd done the frozen cabinets and perused the reduced price chrimbo decorations it was a bit late to be starting on the bike - tomorrow then, first thing, definately.
And that's about it, the time for wanton merriment draws to a close, time to return to practical things like earning a crust.
I'll be back midweek but for now,
Adios,
Madeline Annafrid

You were expecting something different? 'Tis just another day on the calendar. Karen and I have simplified things greatly. There are only three days - Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Very simple. Tomorrow's the future, Yesterday's the past, and Today sucks. Can't change the past, the future is unknowable, so you have just today to worry about. Only so many hours in a day, might as well chiĺl out.

I'm glad that mine is gathering dust these days, I used to have trouble with the new year date when filling in the details.
Feeling optimistic about some things - will concentrate on those, and the little wins.
