This is beyond any possible scale I could imagine

I came across this by accident. This place is so beyond the scale of what I could imagine I’m blown away at how over the top impressive this is. You would be a fool not to see a ton of history in any part of this place let alone the long list of earls whose house this has been and their achievements.

Just a touch.

Ships, both being on and owning/racing.
Contributions to canal networks.
Auto racing
Architecture
Forestry and extensive grounds. (I think even maddy bell would spend a day or more bicycling around there)
Furniture designs and tapestries as well as original artwork and portraits.

The list goes on and I have only just started looking at this place and it’s history.

A bit small and modern for me! Bute is a tiny island (I have been there), enough road for a good afternoon!

Off course the UK is littered (literally) with similar homes all with their own often unexpected histories. I've been to one with Roman cellars under the 17thC house where visits are 'by appointment', then there are the huge estates like Chatsworth and Castle Howard with histories going back to the Norman 'conquest'. On many estates it's still very much a feudal way of life that seems to suit a lot of people, generations working and living on the estate, some going back longer than the titular owners!

But i'll stick to my rocks and lumps, pretentious in their own way!

From what I read

Maddy there seems to be a heck of a lot of trails around the house, off road though. There is also hirte islands as well.
