This time it is Linkedin and not Facebook.
I do think he looks very pretty and dressed very smartly. He is the spitting image of his mum.

Looks like his mother

This is a pretty boy. I'm not surprised there were complaints as there are those who are so unsure of their own gender, it scares them when someone steps outside the boundaries they place on society.
I won't touch LinkedIn although somehow I am registered there even when I never registered.

This is a wonderful story

Annie,

Thanks for posting this.

This is a wonderful story and thanks for linking it for us. I do so hope that Justin gets to live his authentic life.
I find it fun the way that the story does not make an issue about pronouns and presentation. Instead Siofra Brennan was tone perfect in taking her clues from the quotes in the story. It's lovely to see that box starting to open. The Daily Mail is exemplary in this area, though I'm a little confused by the "Femail" banner above the stories and the picture of what I assume to be Annie Lennox from the 80's.

Love you all

The Daily Mail

"Femail" section is aimed at women hence the title.

The Mail was once a fairly decent paper but now it is just full of celebrity tittle-tattle and Fox News type ranting. I call it either "The Daily Flail" or "The Daily Fail".
On the "Snog, Marry, Avoid" scale it is definitely 'avoid'.

local school

I used to go to that school back in 1989 when it was called Neville Lovett.

if I was his/her dad I would have been so proud.

im so glad that all her/his friends didn't have a problem with it.

I found it interesting

that the effort was to appear attractive without over the top effect, so more realism than was perhaps needed. Wouldn't be surprised if there is an element of gender confusion there somewhere.

Linkedin

I can agree with some of the comments on the story. Linkedin is a business and professional networking site, not a social network. Facebook, Instagram, etc. yes, but posting pictures of your child's prom isn't what the site is for.

Nevertheless, he (his preferred pronoun for now) looks great!

I really think...

...he looks great too! Very pretty, without looking overdone. I really wish I'd been brave enough to try that when I was his age.
