I admit that I haven't been working on Walker's Path for the last week or two. It's not because I don't care about the story. It's because my foot has been hurting me pretty bad making it hard to concentrate. I don't use meds for pain because I absolutely hate taking them.
I'm having a really hard time walking and will be getting crutches soon so I can be mobile.
I hate talking about this type of thing. I always feel like I'm looking for sympathy when I'm not.
I'm going to try and push through the pain as much as possible and get some writing done.
I hope all of you are doing well and are not in pain.

I hate shots
I'll do almost anything to avoid them. But when they are a medical necessity I take them. Barring a possible addiction problem there is no virtue in not taking doctor-prescribed medications. If it's the side-effects that bother you, take them at bedtime. They will help you get better sleep which can help speed up healing, and you'll be asleep through the side effects.

The thing is, this type of pain only goes away unless something is done to my foot. Particularly I have to press and hold on my toes so that the ligament or whatever it is that is stuck between my bones, releases. Otherwise, the pain does not go away. (Literally had it for like 2 months before)
Problem is that I've been doing the toes trick and it's not working so I don't know what to do. I'm sure that it'll eventually go away but it's so painful this time that I can't hold my toes for more than a few seconds. I'm supposed to see a nerve doctor next month and getting crutches soon so at least I don't have to put any more pressure on it. I'm also going to get an MRI soon so that should tell them exactly what's going on.

In my recent "Wellness" visit with my doctor she asked if I had any recurring pain. I mentioned my knees bothered me regularly and she asked what I took for pain. I told that the human body has the ability to deal with certain amounts of pain and if I took something every time I felt a little pain, that ability would atrophy and I'd simply teach my body that it didn't need to deal with pain, then when I did get a serious pain, I'd have developed a resistance to pain relievers, so I generally didn't take anything for pain.
NSAIDS are hard on my stomach and kidneys, acetaminophen isn't all that effective. That leaves prescription pain relievers. Most of them really have negative effects on the rest of my system. As a result, pain relievers, in most instances, are not an option for me.
