for a late posting?

Well I've been writing all day, yup another chapter in the can!

So, where to start? Okay, so I had planned on spending Monday writing but better than expected weather and a show of solidarity with my coach driver brother (he was taking part in a demo in Bristol to bring the plight of coach companies during Covid to public attention, they get no gov't assistance and thousands of jobs are at risk in the industry), my best intentions went by the board.

Tuesday then, I decided to take a run to the coast. The day was looking okay, I was just getting into the swing when poing!, I brought things to a halt (I was on a steep descent at the time) only to discover not 1 but 2 broken spokes in the front wheel - shite or words to that effect. There was no way I could sensibly continue so reluctantly I headed to Portishead where I stopped by the Pier to eat my sandwiches. then it was a slow and as brake free a route as possible to get back to base. Although the ride clocked over 50km, its the first time since Jan 1 that I've not done over 100km on a ride, I'd only been wondering over breakfast how long the run would go, oh well.

And so to today. Having made a start on the next Gaby chapter Tuesday evening and with the rain coming down in sheets, I cracked on with the writing which is where we came in.

I've posted the next chapter of book 2 for you, part 24 Hermione!. The plan currently is to do a double post with books 2 and 22 on Sundays but just book 2 on Wednesdays.

What's next? Well a ride using a borrowed wheel tomorrow and Saturday with a writing session on Friday before heading to Yorkshire on Sunday for a couple of days.

Ciao for now and I'll see you next time!

I took one look out of the window (wed)

and decided that starting work on a new raised bed can wait. The rain was pretty constant all day.
Like you, I settled down an did some writing. I've had a new story idea rattling around for some time. I got close to 4K words down yesterday.

Good luck getting those spokes replaced. Can you do it yourself or do you need to take the wheel to a specialist. If the latter then it might be prudent to get all of them replaced. If one (or two as in your case) goes then it might be a sign that several others are on their way out as well.

What i'm doing with it yet. The failures are the result of an incident rather than fatigue. The wheel isn't in the first flush of youth so it might be more economic to just buy a replacement. I can certainly do it myself but i'm not a fast or very skilled wheelsmith!
