As I can't sleep I thought I would get started on the next chapter. But something came to mind so I am going to let you decide. Since Susan has been given this gift of eloquence on speaking French and Gaelic Would you rather see:
A: If she is speaking in either use italics to represent that?
or
B: The actual language with translation?
I am willing to go either way but I will caution you I don't speak either one fluently. I know enough to ask directions give and receive names and in French order a meal and I can sing "Jingle Bells" in Gaelic, don't ask me too because you really don't want to hear me sing. So if the majority decides on the language version I will probably end up using a translator to help which isn't a problem it will just take a little longer especially for Scots Gaelic as translating to Irish Gaelic is a little easier, but there are small differences between the two. So your choice

Use Italics
Personally, I would use the italics as to not slow reading by looking at some translation program or pull my hairs with translated french that is often horrible.
But I will admit having the real language do offer a flavor to the text.
If you decide to use the translation, maybe still use the italic or different font colors for the different languages.

In my tales I usually use italics as representing the internal thoughts of the protagonists.
There are two occasions in the Anmar tales where non-native language is used. For one of these I've used « and » when the speech is in normal conversation. This seems to work really well but putting the marks in can be tedious.
The other occasion is when certain beings are conversing, and I don't mean talking. To emphasise this I chose to use a different type face: Sans-serif as opposed to the default Serif. That works just as well, though could cause problems if you subsequently want to publish elsewhere, depending on rules. (I think you might be able to do this here with the 'code' option in the edit option above the text entry field.)
