Been reading the very excellent "Lifeline" by Cyclist, the story of a survivor of the worst kind of child abuse.

Nobody Mentions The Word

CORRUPTION. The whole investigation stinks of it and there should be a whole raft of offenders in jail, including the police who conspired to downplay and drop the investigation.

How many adults will ever be involved in this kind of bestiality and get away with it? We now have in Australia the most senior members of the Catholic Church saying that they will not break the "sanctity" of the confessional if molesters of children confess their crime.....not sin....Crime. Aaargh!

On our side of the pond we have several examples of care homes exactly like those in Deb’s story. Both government and private and religious. One can easily get lost in the despair engendered by the scope of evil in the world.

Lifeline

Some years ago I got fed up with a particular trope, the 'forced fem' story, and wrote my novel "Sweat and Tears", in which I introduced Charlie Cooper along with his colleagues, who remain the most utterly vile characters I have ever created, and I hope I never exceed that level of filth. The story was based to an extent on a number of children's homes, which included Kincora, Bryn Alyn and Bryn Estyn, which were only three of many.

The Bryn Alyn and Estyn homes involved at least nine deaths. Kincora was allegedly used as a brothel "staffed" with underage boys. I will leave it at that; if you REALLY need to know more, be warned that the details are not at all to be read on an empty stomach.

Those who follow my writing will know that I really try to write love stories, with happy endings, set in a world as real as I can make it. The darkness is there to enhance the light I strive for.
