Its only taken a couple of days but I have at long last got everything dry after my trip to the sometimes damp Cycling World Championships!

Okay so the weather wasn't perfect, but it wasn't all bad, good racing, good company and good food saw to that but i'll admit that four wet nights in a tiny tent weren't the most fun I've ever had. The longish rides up and back were at least dry, yeah, it was great to be there, be part of it even if it was only spectating, the crowds, the atmosphere - it was great.

We saw the youngsters, girls Gaby's age that is as well as the three senior races! Inspiring stuff - if you get the chance its worth watching ont' web, the sheer grit and determination of the youngsters.

So here I am back in Sheffield, but not for long, on Monday i'm taking a group of archaeologists away to the Suffolk / Essex border region for a few days so there should be a posting on Sunday but probably not on Wednesday next week.

It was raining here yesterday so I've put together the next set of holiday snaps from Sweden

There's more! yep, Loves Young Dream is now available for your perusal and enjoyment! I hope you all enjoy it.

Well that's about it for today, I've just got to work out how to raise £700 by the weekend. Now, like BC, i'm running in a deficit due to a couple of poor sales months, hopefully things will pick up this month.

Tack,
Mads

Remember, Lorenzo will be

Remember, Lorenzo will be hitting the UK sometime tomorrow, even if it's no longer building up power.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Beware Signs

Looks like you and Mads had a interesting time.

I find it very interesting to see the various "Beware" signs you can come across in different countries. Germans used to steal the Moose signs (maybe they still do).
My personal favourite is a Beware sign depicting a monk (seen at the entrance to a monastery in Belgium.

Any idea how soon.......

I would love for you to be able to!

The short answer is, I don't know. My current crisis has got me into a spiral of self fulfilling descent. Ergo, I can't get my head around writing where i'm staying (too many distractions, wrong atmosphere) so I need to find alternative accomodation. Problem is, that needs money which I don't have and I don't have it because I can't write where I am!

I'm pretty much sofa surfing atm, if I can get out of that I wil be able to do some writing which in turn will get you something to buy and read which will then supply me with funds to get out of this mess - I thought I had it cracked this month but sales across the summer plummeted so my income has been slashed by 2/3rds!

I hope i'll be able to get some writing done after next week's trip (I don't get paid but I don't pay to go either) so hopefully there will be something by the end of the month.

Hopefully things get better for you!

I would offer a place to lay your head, but unfortunately you are an ocean away.

On the other hand, if you ever get the urge to see how the other side lives, you’ve got an open invitation and I have a spare bedroom.

I am going through withdrawal and a lot of coffee

Yes, I understand your plight. I have been close but not quite to where you are, and I empathize. While waiting for the next book, I have taken to drinking coffee (much cheaper than alcohol). More important to take care of yourself first, then the book. We can wait until things level off for you and all of hope that it does soon. Be careful and thank you for keeping us posted.
