Just finished for the second time, Daniel A. Wolfe's enormous TG Sci Fi tale called "Battle For Earth". It is well written but could use a final edit for spelling. There were not so many errors, and I told my inner perfectionist to Shut UP!
The tale is very engaging and well organized with only a couple 'plot holes' . It took me over a week to read it and it is the sort of story that I did not want to put down. I finally finished at 3:00 A.M. this morning and have been napping all day to recover. For me, it was very high on the plausibility scale, and the characterization was very good.
It did not exist here at BCTS, though some of his work does. I read it from his site. My Computer only has 12 meg. of memory but it did load ok.

One slip up can ruin a story entirely
I was watching an episode of Marvel's "Agent Carter" yesterday and there was a flashback to London in WW2. There were people dining outside with lots of lights burning. I guess Hollywood has never heard of 'The Blackout'.
Since I've been writing I've become far more critical of frankly silly mistakes especially in works you pay good money for. That said, you have to be tolerant of valid but different spellings of words which can happen in English. eg Center vs Centre.

Please, not the spelling thing again, i've only just recovered from the last round - but we stuck it to 'em eh!
I'm far from perfect, I do however try to produce grammatically correct works (whichever language is being used). So it's annoying that so many works by 'established' authors on my bookshelf don't respect the readers enough to do even basic editing. It's not just bad manners but it encourages poor standards from others reading it/them.
Poor plots I can live with, blatant ignorance as has been pointed out above is an annoyance but to present your work with such poor presentation is disrespectful to say the least. It's one thing to use a bit of artistic licence in the plot but at least make some effort to present it well. I, with my editorial team have just embarked on a major project to re-edit the whole Gaby series - all 24 volumes - we will probably follow that with Nena etc.

Not sure how I missed this until now, but thank you for recommending my story. I am working on the grammar issues that crop up in my stories, but my ADD makes it much harder for me to spot them than it does for most folks.
