Around 1890, In an effort to address the increasing demand for public facilities for women, some men designed urinals for women. These low elongated urinal were intend to be used by women. However, women objected to the idea they were to hike up there dresses and back up to these strange "low sinks". This demand for more appropriate seating cause the orders for female urinals to drop even as the production was ramping up. How to get rid of the unwanted inventory? Why sell them cheap as men's urinals! So, these female urinals can be found in government building built in the early 1900's all across the USA. They are, of course, found in the men's restrooms.
