Just a short missive from Yorkshire today. Well on one of the best May BH Sundays ever (sunshine, blue skies, no wind or clouds - unheard of for a UK BH!) i'm pleased to relate that I completed the 2000+m of climbing squeezed into 129 Pennine kilometres in a time of 5hrs 30mins. Not too shabby for an old git and I didn't resort to walking anywhere despite grades in the high teens and low twenties (1 in 4 ish if you are old skool on these things.)
The pros were complaining of having 6 big climbs today - we had twice that number and we don't get paid to ride them! I did end up with some interesting tan lines but not quite as tender as in Germany.
After a celebratory beer at the finish I rode the extra 6km up (yep another 240m) to my daughter for a shower and GC hugging time.

So that's what I did on my BH Sunday - legs ache a bit now! Glad it's a month until the next metre grabbing event out of Skipton on the other side of the Yorkshire Dales.

I promise no stupid mountainous ride at the the proposed Gaby Cyclefest!

Anyway,
Ttfn

Well done...

on the ride.
As to the Bank Holiday weather, Monday is the actual Bank Holiday, so be prepared for snow and gales, whether they are forecast or not.

But the sky is blue, the sun is high, its already warm at 8.00am so it really is breaking the rules!

I'm about to get my lethargic rear out of this chair and go answer. Sunscreen, where are you? Looks like Mads had a proper day:)

"Reach for the sun."

Yes!

Even here on Dartmoor, the sun is shining. I may break out the barbecue later.
Enjoy your day.
