My brain is weird.

I cant even have anxiety like a normal person.

Instead of the usual symptoms, heart racing, whatever, my brain has come up with a different idea.

It finds something else for me to focus on, and goes "hey look, over here, a shiny!"

The result is I can go a long time without even realizing something is making me anxious.

Then when I do, a massive amount of reluctance to even think about it kicks in. The harder I try to approach the center of the anxiety, the more the anxiety pushes back, till I would rather dance naked in a field of spiders than actually confront the thing I'm anxious about.

Sighs ...

Weird -- Wired? ;)

"... rather dance naked in a field of spiders ..."

Sounds pretty wired! :P

But, if dance in a field of spiders, wouldn't squish them? :D

BTW, you have no idea how my skin is crawling, just thinking of doing that!

You know we love ya, Dot!

HUGS!

Everyone's brain is wierd

Especially those of us who frequent this place.
Add in those of us who are 'Lefties' and it is little wonder that some of us can get out of bed in the morning.

Deflection is a classic way people deal with problems. Think or do something else delays or can even eliminate problems so Dottie,

You are not alone here.

Lefties as in....

left handed? I'm neither or both since i'm ambidextrous, and use both hands equally well.

left in political views? I'm neither or both there again. The one political view I am very one sided about is freedom. Everyone should be free to do what they wish so long as it does not harm others. So you're gay or a cross dresser or transgender, you are not hurting anyone so you should be free to do as you please. In the same situation, if you are a homophobe, or your religious beliefs make you think the afore mentioned are sick, should be persecuted, etc. You are free to feel that way just as long as you DO NOT act on those thought that you are free to believe in since acting on them would violate someone else's freedom.

Forcing anyone to abide by your or your group's beliefs no matter which side of the fence you are on, it taking away someone's freedom and that includes their freedom to disagree with you.

We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Weird ...

I'm just from the Twilight Zone. That makes it a lot easier to explain.
