That was a toughie. Sorry it took so long.
Writing this latest chapter in Harold's story was a big chore. I wanted it to feel like an important turning point but not the end of the story. The story kept wanting to make it an ending and yes, it is a good enough ending, but there are other parts of Harold's story I want to tell.
I hope I hit a nice compromise and in a week or so, I hope to be able to start posting Part 2. :)

A girl getting hired would fulfill the basics of a story called HIRED GIRL, but there's the job, the co-workers, customers, making friends and maybe a girlfriend or boyfriend, her sweet big sister (who I can't get enough of...), the dad's reaction and all the decisions about what being Carol really means to Harold, and who will be going back to school at summer's end. You can probably guess what I'm hoping it will turn into; us fans of young adult TG fiction are a predictable lot. Really glad this story didn't run out of momentum, as happens to both your stories and mine sometimes...

I had this written two weeks ago but what with interruptions and illness did not finish tweaking it to my satisfaction until last night.
I've decided that Part 1 is to be subtitled Menu. The next part is likely to be called Wardrobe. :) Wish me luck getting it started in the next two weeks.

Missing a dream?
I think I had one of your dreams while I was napping, Ronnie. It involved Piper, high speed trains, MMORPG, Norse gods, and the San Diego ComicCon. I had to park it out on the street because it was too big for my driveway. You can come get it anytime this weekend but on Monday, the Sheriffs are going to tow the thing away. :)
