Blog About:

You've probably been seeing a few postings about Kindle books on BC. This is nothing new, Maddy Bell's Gaby series has been on Kindle and before Kindle on Lulu for a long time. Also works by several other authors including Tanya Allen, Katie Leone and me.

These posting are going to increase. DopplerPress is the arm of BigCloset that publishes Kindle, Lulu, and CreateSpace books. Some books are just donated to us to publish and we get the income from them which goes toward keeping our websites running. Other books we have cooperative agreements with the authors; we prepare and publish the books and share in the income. Still other authors publish their own books and send us an amount for advertising. And yet other authors publish their own books and we promote those because we get commissions from sales on Kindle.

This is all according to plan. It may seem a bit intrusive at times but really, it is taking less than 5% of our display space to do this and it will keep us from having to ask for more money each month.

Thank you all for understanding.

Hugs,
Erin

What Me Worry?

waif's picture

I don't see a problem. I rarely go to a website that has no ads or banners on it. This site costs money to operate, and it provides a service that is easy to quantify because of the huge number of postings, responses, and kudos that are placed by readers. I realize that it is a labor of love (or rather 'labour' of love for you anglophiles) for the staff here, but it has an overhead like any other business, and I seriously doubt anyone is getting rich off it.

Besides, I like seeing book ads on the site, as it often lets me spot new authors or new works by old authors.

Just my two cents (tuppence?).

Be kind to those who are unkind, tolerant toward those who treat you with intolerance, loving to those who withhold their love, and always smile through the pains of life.
