University of Arizona Launching Country’s First “Transgender Studies” Program…
Susan Stryker, is in charge of the new program.

I don't agree with Susan in a lot of the things she advocates. She has been at the forefront of the Trans scene forever. She is a pusher for what she believes in. I guess some of that is necessary to get the message out at times. Not my style.

Not much real news in the article. If they have any future events I feel would be worth attending, I might make the drive. They would have to be "knock my socks off" speakers with a real up to date grasp of the reality of trans advances in the business world and the medical world. I would also need a whole lot of contact lists of people, businesses, and professionals who are willing and able to give support to trans.
Have fun with life. It's too short to take it seriously.
God gave us a wonderful tapestry of people in thousands of different ways. Each one unique.

Sorry if I sound snippy but it is how I feel. I feel really dubious about someone in the LBG community having anything authoritative to say about transgender folk. In my experience, they just want to make us conform to their reality, and I have never been interested in their agenda, though have been pressured by some of them.
It will be interesting to see how the progam develops and I would like to see the list of funders. I have my suspicions about WHO might be doing that, so we'll see. There is a certain large religious group who is actually trying to understand trans and intersex folk. Some of them have told me that I have changed them, not to let that go to my head. It remains to be seen if any actual change has actually happened.
Hopeful, but not holding my breath.
