Somebody yelled this at me from a passing car today

as I was walking to the gym dressed in typical guy sweats and hoodie. At first the name did not register and I thought the guy was calling for someone he knew. But there was no one else anywhere nearby, and the cadence & tone was wrong it had that jeering tone that people use when shouting a repeated insult. And then(after the car pulled away) it hit me "Caitlyn Jenner"!

So it would seem that Caitlyn's name has become an insult, and that I was picked out as being like her simply for having my ponytail tucked through my ball cap and carrying my gym stuff in pink bag, neither of which is particularly unusual around here. Now In my case the guy was not completely off the mark, however it was a rather large assumption on slim evidence, besides it being prejudiced etc etc.

I have to wonder if something about the way I move telegraphs female, yet I don't look it so it confuses people.

PS. Know this it is a little minor nothing. And it did not really bother me.
It just kind of surprised me, especially sine I thought I was in full guy mode.

I did kind of think that & smile to my self.
It was just unexpected, I mean, I wasn't even wearing my pink hoodie. ;))

Yeah a ponytail at ball-cap height is fairly common around here, I tend to wear I that way no matter how I am dressed, have for a very long time.

Strange...

That is a strange reaction to what you mentioned. Ponytails are like... whatever in this day and age. And for all he knew, that pink bag could've been for breast cancer awareness month. Pretty rude if you ask me.

This was shouted by the monkey driving the car.
