I am really worried about my mom.
She's panicking over having to move, she's not sleeping well, and has been very forgetful and doing stuff without thinking.
Yesterday I came across the stopper for the bathroom sink in the fridge, for no reason.
All prayers and good wishes are appreciated

Then you and Mom will have mine.
Parents worry over kids - then kids worry over parents. Maybe you'll have to do a toddler survey, and discreetly remove or lock up hazards.

Dorothy,
Dorothy,
Has your mom acted anything like this previously outside the moving issue? If she has, then I would suggest, if she has not previously, be examined by a doctor for possible early stages of Dementia. NOT Alzhemiers (sic). They are similar but not the same disease.
I have a dear friend who has dementia and he started very much like this. Forgetfulness, putting things in places they should not have been or would ever be found normally and did things that seemed like he was doing them without thinking before hand.
Not saying she has this issue, but it is worth checking out, if nothing more than for your own mental well being.

Crisis Oriented
The Media and our general culture sometimes seem to want us to view everything as high priority, even emergent. You have not mentioned your Mom's age.
If I allow it to happen, I can do very silly things, like leaving my purse in the hall, or the keys in the door overnight. This does not mean that she has dementia for sure, but could perhaps benefit from some commiseration with other women. Depending on how things are, perhaps a pastor could help.
Possibly as an act of mercy from God, so many things that I used to worry about, I just don't care about any more. Is it utter despair or simply a better perspective? I don't know. And, perhaps it is up to you to sort of take charge because of her aging condition. This happens with us all.
Blessings
Gwen
