It's amazing how much life can change when you're not paying attention. Yesterday was my birthday and I spent it with my sister, first time in 5 years someone even remembered when I was born. It was a, good feeling honestly. Even more so when I'm a year and a half into my transition, and my sister has accepted it. A while back I spent Easter with her, as a sort of...trial run to see if I wanted to risk bringing her back into my life. So I put on a dress grabbed my purse and headed out to her apartment. I had fun. Fast forward to August 13th, and I was invited over to her place again. So I got over there at 10 am. Left at 7 PM. Had fun again playing with my little niece, and chatting with with my sister. And she told me "I may not have understood your need to transition at first, but on Easter when I saw you, you had more life to you. You were happy, energetic, you were talking. You weren't trying to sulk into video games, you were Alive. That's when I realized I never had a brother, I have a Sister." That was heartwarming for me to hear. and all I ever wanted to hear from her.
So my sister is back in my life for the time being, though soon she's moving to Arizona. And Dad's....still being Dad.....

I trust you had a fine celebration and it very heartening to see that your sister is supportive. Hopefully Dad will come around in time.
