And the following page...
And the way the subject is handled in that page, and the following page, is beautiful, and well done.
Thanks!
I really enjoyed this. I follow "Validation" as well.

Yeah... I mean it was pretty
Yeah... I mean it was pretty much confirmed in Whales that Ted didn't just have a transformation fetish, but that s/he was having more serious gender issues. On the other hand it's a bit hard to believe that Ted was really that oblivious, especially if he really wants/likes to be a girl.
I'm curious how this will develop though. Will Ted go girl for real, or will he keep his public appearance of a guy for a while?
Not really oblivious
But, Tedd like a lot of smart people is very focused. You can see in the series how locked on to the TF guns and their effects he is. He very simply never looked or took the Transgender thing as meaning something that didn't apply to him.
If there was such a thing as TF guns, I know I would be focused as hell on them too!

On the latest comic Dan reported that he's received more mail about this group of strips than any other. It really resonated with many of his readers. I have to say I was rather impressed with it too. It really did a good job of showing how we can deny what everyone else sees but us.
Poor Ted hasn't caught on to that not everyone wants to change themselves into girls. "But it's only naturally to want to experiment, right?"
:)

Never underestimate..
...the power of self-denial. :-P
There are many paths to Oblivious.
None constructive.
I'm beginning to suspect that most of the world lives in their own detached fantasy.
Why should Tedd be any different? At least s/he's lucky to have wise/insightful friends. :-)
