I was married to my girlfriend on Friday, which was our one year anniversary.
Since I live in Texas, we had to drive out to Santa Fe, NM. We stayed at the Lodge of Santa Fe which had nice rooms and was located near where we had to go to get everyting done.
First thing Friday morning, we went to the county clerk's office to get our marriage license. $25 cash was well worth it. Next we drove out to the Magistrate court to put ourselves in the queue for the ceremonies that afternoon. Once we were done there we headed back to the hotel to change into nicer clothes and pack.
While checing out, we were told by the clerk that this summer the hotel was going to offer free weddings in their chapel for same sex couples. That sounds really nice.
Once checked out, we went to find a bookstore. Sadly, we could not find a good general one. Most specialized in local area books, and just the top sellers. Still, the coffee shop was a nice place to wait for a while.
Finally we arrived at 3pm for the ceremony. We had been told that marriages start after 3p. That is actually true, but they schedule a docket at 3pm and when that is over the marriages start. We were fouth in line so our ceremony was approx. at 4pm.
From there, back to the county clerk's office to register the marriage, and get certified copies. $2.50 / copy was also not so bad. And we were done.
The county clerk was very sweet and excited for us. And the judge was also very nice, and seemed to enjoy marrying us.
Of note, all six couples who were married by the judge were same sex couples.
And now, the true adventure begins.

Congrats girls!
Wish I had known about the bridal showers. I suspect you'll both be very happy together, and Texas's days of screwing with couples like you are numbered.
happy for
both of you have a long happy life together
I wish you both
much happiness together.

It's kind of cheesy and cliche'd....
But as the Vulcan greeting says,
Live long and prosper.
I really hate to use a line from Star Trek - but is does in fact convey my wishes for you very well. I wish you both a very long, happy, and prosperous life together. Revel in each other, and always remember that the sum truly is greater than the parts. Together you can be and do so much more than apart.
Much love and happiness,
Dallas

congrats!
Congrats, hon. I wish you both all the happiness possible.
May your union be blessed
And a lot of fun :)
Congrats!
We're just over 25 years married and it can be a wonderful thing!
Congratulations and as a previous post said "Live Long And Prosper".
BTW apparently that benediction and the gesture are something very old and jewish, even though it did get used in Star Trek. Apparently you're not supposed to open your eyes so as to actually see the gesture...
Anyway I digress.
May you have a long and happy marriage!!!
((hugs))
Abby
Thanks
We do hope to have a long life together. After all that has happened in the year since we first decided to be a couple, we are sure that we can get through any challenge we are faced with as long as we are together.
Thanks for the update on Jewish Traditions.
Love & Light,
Cassie Ellen
Congrats!!!
Congrats!!!
Great news!
Congratulations!

my wife and i celebrated 19 years marriage on the 1st April a few weeks back, she married andrew and for the 7 year itch i became the other woman and she stayed with me post transition.
a small bit of advice, if anything she does upsets/iritates you, best talk about it immediately, lest it go from a mole hill to mountain, and vice versa of course.
wishing you both a lot of the better years together and hopefully very few of the worse.
that we do
We work through our day each night as we are settling for sleep. We go to our bed, and talk until we are done. And there are nights that we go to bed exceptionally early because there is a lot to say, or just that we need time to hold each other in silence.
I'm so happy that your marriage survived your transition. Mine did not, but our friendship did. So I still consider myself blessed from that. Still, I have never been happier with my bride. So it all happened for the best.
Love & Light,
Cassie Ellen
I want to thank everyone for sharing
We got back and I immediately came down with a bad cold. So I'm finally feeling enough alive to respond.
I have been so happy to hear of your long term relationships. I believe this one will be one of those.
Love & Light,
Cassie Ellen
