Poor Daniel, he always seems to get locked up by shady local law enforcement whenever he opens his mouth. Here's hoping something good will come out of it, somehow.

And Lucy doesn't even care a whit about it at all, despite acknowledging that McNeil is useful to her as the investigator type.
She's just going to run on back to Malaysia and wait for McNeil to find his way back there... Somehow.
Not only has she gotten Lin and Dan into trouble with the local police, she also made it so that there's absolutely no chance of Dan getting any further information out of the bitch at the studio. Even if the police decide to drop their fishing expedition and believe him.
