patronising. 'A woman CID officer is only paid 90% of a man's salary because she works fewer hours - except when she's on a case when she might work long hours,' and still only get paid 90% of her male colleagues. Being a model is not just wearing beautiful clothes... and it was narrated by a man, probably written by one as well. Grrr...

To be fair, the subtitles did say the voice-overs were provocative.
But you're absolutely right, in most ways this is an appalling snapshot of early 60s Britain. The worst thing is, it completely ignores the near poverty millions of British women had to live through.
To get a taste of that, watch this. Second only to 'Cathy Come Home' in my opinion.
