Well, I entered the BBC competition. No great hopes, but I got a reply today. My script hasn't been selected, but they have told me it reached the top 16% of entries. Now, there's a compliment!

Just the beginning!
...with your talent, I'm confident that someone will take notice. Great news!

Well done.
There may be more interest in scripts with a cycling background after the brilliant Beryl Burton programme with Maxine Peake as Beryl. Though, nice as Beryl was, she wasn't quite so glamorous as Peake :) Bit quicker on a bike, though. Perhaps a drama on the pain and pleasure of (say) the PBP. I know a few stories from riders in that event both sad and joyful. Just a thought.
Was there any indication of how high up you needed to be for the script to be accepted?
Anyway, don't give up.

Well done,
the first draft you showed me looked promising, so I'm not surprised you got 'commended'.

Congrats Steph.
It was an excellent story with that subtle twist at the end. Don't give up on this Steph, I know that you'll be disappointed that it wasn't selected but then, Rome wasn't built in a day.
I don't have to tell you to keep on writing cos' I know that you will.

Have I Missed Something?
Did you post it here on BCTS? I'd love to see what you wrote,

I don't know if it would be possible to post it here, as there was an agreement with the competition. However, those who wish to see it, send me an e-mail address.
