and I'd like some help deciding what I should try to focus on until the other story gets free. I'm going to try to work on another story while this one germinates some more. If nothing else, even the discussion of what's in my queue may jar the current story free. Opinions welcome. Bear in mind, this isn't a democracy, so while I will listen to suggestions, I'll make the decision on my own.

Anyway, here's a preview of what's in the queue. What tickles your fancy about a next story priority?

Bikini Beach: Choices: The girls who broke into Bikini Beach are faced with making some life choices when they get an unexpected surprise from Grandmother.

Bikini Beach: The Temptation of Anya: Anya meets a new friend, who is also a magic user. Since she's 23 and can travel to the other realm, she's starting to display some unpleasant actions,

Bikini Beach: The Gift: A man and his wife split up over their inability to have children. Both of their lives have gone to crap. Bikini Beach may offer a way out — at a price.

Bikini Beach: Your Cheatin' Heart: A woman is devastated when she finds out her boyfriend has cheated on her, while lying about it. She comes to BB to get revenge, but even Anya and Grandmother are surprised at the type of revenge she's thinking of.

Bikini Beach: Mother of the Bride: A father goes out with his daughter for one 'family' day before her wedding. The daughter seems particularly heartbroken, because she'd always wanted to have her mom dance with and approve her husband at the reception.

Bikini Beach: Paternity: A man who's was estranged from his son at the age of 1 wishes he'd made better choices, and that he could get to know his son. The SRU wiz steers him to BB, where he gets a new chance, albeit not the one he wanted..

Bikini Beach: Michelle: Story of Mark Thompson, aide to Senator Micheals, and his depression, which borders on suicidal. Only the Senator can understand him, and she may have a solution — if Mark can admit his real problem.

Gynecomastia: A man with benign prostate hypertrophy and male pattern baldness finds that the treatments have interesting side effects. His wife decides to ramp things up a notch after she gets pregnant.

Operation Rescue — The Deal: A man loses a bet with his friend, and the terms of the bet require him to serve as a host. He hopes to fail, but when he passes the psychological test and is accepted, and changes, he finds something about himself that he didn’t know.

Operation Rescue: The Things We Do For Love: A man loves his childhood best friend, but she doesn't love him, because she's a lesbian. The man thinks Operation Rescue can solve his loneliness problems, but it ends up creating more than he'd counted on.

Infertility Treatment: A couple desperate to have children find serious problems with the wife. A new, novel treatment option might allow them to have children,

Meddling Mothers: (Long serial story) A teenager and a friend end up in a web of deceit and trickery by their mothers, who are determined that the two end up as a couple. They have lots to learn in order to not mess up their new lives worse.

Bikini Beach — Boy Toy. Ronnie Harris lures a young man to be her latest boy toy. When she tires of him, she plans on dumping him, but he talks her into going to the park, not knowing what fate awaits him. Ronnie thinks it’s a great plan to get rid of him — until she finds a strange new attraction.

Operation Rescue — The Deal: A man loses a bet with his friend, and the terms of the bet require him to serve as a host. He hopes to fail, but when he passes the psychological test and is accepted, and changes, he finds something about himself that he didn’t know

Revenge with a Twist: A man has his life stolen by a disenchanted former lover. He fights despair until he comes up with a plan to set things right. But even that has twists and turns that he never expected, due to limitations on what magic can do.

MAU: Trekkies - Secret Agent Seven: Synopsis: When the Agency discovers a that a foreign power has accessed an MAU, and looks to be creating problems that are beyond their skills, C and D pay a visit to Danni, offering a truce if she'll help solve a problem of international scope.

I don't make suggestions

I ran into the same problem writing a sequel to Assassin. I started the story but ran out of steam after about fifteen thousand words. Nothing would come, so I started another story just so I could still write. Now I want to finish the silly thing, it's kind of a bit of fluff piece but I've grown to like the thing. The sequel is taking place in my mind, but seeing as how it will be around three hundred pages long it obviously has a long way to go. For now I'll work on Twins and let my brain relax, Arecee

All I can say is that while

All I can say is that while I've enjoyed virtually everything you've written, none of those jump out and say "Me! Me!" over the others.

As a suggestion, instead of trying to be "story" creative, why not fill out character biographies or timelines instead? Even if _we_ never see those, the act of getting them down "on paper" (even if electronically) might give you more to work with later.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Story Choices

I would be interested in any if them but Gynecomastia or either of the Operation Rescues would be my preferences. Infertility treatment would also be of interest. I do enjoy any of your stories though.

Ditto

I am glad that you have a plot idea for a sequel in your trekkies story line.

No pressure or anything. ;-)

Elrod, for me

MAU: Trekkies and Bikini Beach: Michelle: Story of Mark Thompson sound the best to me.

well, seeing as how you posted

Operation Rescue – The Deal: A man loses a bet with his friend, and the terms of the bet require him to serve as a host. He hopes to fail, but when he passes the psychological test and is accepted, and changes, he finds something about himself that he didn’t know

twice, I would say you wanted to do that (subconsciously, of course). And so would I :)

Body Molding: A reporter doing a 'puff' piece on a new vacation resort comes across a very sinister secret that threatens the very core of the nation. Unfortunately, he's no longer in a position to expose the secret, and must now improvise while being on the run.

and

Patient Zero: A man on his deathbed reveals a deep dark secret, one that had profound implications for the world.

bath also look to hold lots of promise, in a Michael Crichtonesque way :)

Let the Bikini Beach and MAU stuff simmer in the backgound, with constant watching and seasoning, and I am sure they will turn out as great as always

Gyno and Infertility...

Are the ones sounding most intriguing to me. I won't dissuade you from writing whatever you want though if these aren't your own faves.

Abigail Drew.

Just to be Diff

I would have to say Ronnie's Boy Toy. I've been kinda intrigued by her and to see how she operates. But then I'm also torn with BB: Michele.

But then again I could use a good story like Mother of the Bride. It sounds like a good tear jerker also.

Just my opinion.

I only know the one I dont

gpoetx's picture

I only know the one I dont want to see still the one I am fearful of, The Temptation of Anya...
And you already know my reasons so...
Though Boytoy could be really neat and Gynecomastia just sounds like a story that could be very very large would would be great.

Not to pile on more thoughts

gpoetx's picture

Not to pile on more thoughts on an already filled mind but I've always wondered; BB is a place were women can go to not have men lusting and leering after them but what would happen when a woman is just as bad? I live in Tampa/Saint Pete... Something I see often...

Hmmmm....

Well, I'm coming in late here. "Patient Zero", "Paternity" and "Boy Toy" have already seen the light of the day, so they are no longer on the table.

I see some similarity between "BB: The Gift" and your earlier "BB: Surrogate Mother." I expect you are thinking of a different slant, but from the one-line synopsis I can't really tell. For that matter, "Infertility Treatment" also seems to gravitate around the same basic concept of weird-way-to-get-around-infertility. I have no idea of the planned differences between all of them -- but perhaps you should look at them all together to consider if you might have something mixing & matching stuff from them?

"BB: Choices" is a story that has been a long time in coming -- the final fate of the Midnight Swimmers. I like revisiting old characters and see them being fleshed out; that's a story I could appreciate.

"BB: Michelle", strangely enough, does not interest me as much despite being also a revisit to a known characters, but I would like to see it eventually because it would give some additional background to "BB: The Coup".

I have a bit of a hard time with "Meddling Mothers" -- depending on how I read the synopsis, I come up with two or three very different concepts. So I have no idea.

"Body Molding" seems to be more of a thriller, something that might be interesting to stretch your talents, in the same way that "The New Co-Ed" gave you the opportunity to try yourself on longer forms. So I think you should seriously consider it.

Of the two "Operation Rescue" stories, "The Things We Do For Love" seems the most interesting -- people doing things for the wrong reasons are a good source of story conflict and learning.
