You're right. It does seem that far too many of us are hurt far too much by the unpleasant, the uncaring, and the undesirable. This time, it seems like the unpleasant ones started it, but the uncaring ones finished it for everyone.

I'm so sorry. I feel badly about it too. I'm guessing that you at least have some chance to get personal emails from Maddy as she writes privately. So try to look at the bright side.

Perhaps some day Maddy will feel up to releasing more of her work again. In the meantime, let's do what we can to encourage her and nourish her. She's had a rough half a year, and annoying posters are really just that last straw on her back, compared to the heavy weights that have been dropped on her. She feels put upon, and I think that we should try to help her, instead of putting more burdens upon her.

In retrospect, I'll miss Drew's training and racing most of all. I suppose that few other people will feel that way. But I loved the way that Maddy brought life to the world of amateur cycling, and the way in which she opened up the small world of a small teen in the Midlands...

God bless you Maddy, and I hope that one day all this misery seems trivial and laughable. I hope that this last year doesn't quench your interest in writing, even if it is only for yourself and your friends.
