The node counter table in the database got corrupted during the crash early this morning. The system seems to have crashed due to a power brownout, probably due to high winds in LA. Bob and I will try to fix the database table tomorrow but I still haven't tracked down the My Stories problem.
Enjoy the ohrwurm. :)

Erin

Thanks, but take care of yourself!
Erin,
Thanks, but please take care of yourself and what needs to be done. We can get by without the counter for now. :-)

No problem, Erin
Take your time, we can all wait.
Hugs, and thanks for all the work

Take your time
I'm kinda enjoying the feeling of delayed childbirth that I'm getting from not knowing if my storys doing well. It's a miracle a broken counter can give me a feeling that modern medicine is incapable of.Please take care of yourself and your family business first I can't promise you that I'm not feeling tension and apprehension from not knowing how my story is doing but I think it's pretty obvious you won't have any dissension when it comes to you taking the time you need.I wish I could give you a hug Amy
it can wait.
You have much more inportant things on your plate right now. We'll all survive a few days without "My Stories." You take care of everything you need to take care of. And that INCLUDES yourself, young lady! No buts... Go relax for a day or two. Bob and Sephrena can hold down the fort for you, until you have had a chance to unwind and get your mind clear. Please, be safe.
Much love, and you're in my prayers.

Distraction
I suspect Erin is using this to take her mind off things going on at home, take a look at the title of the blog. Diving into a computer problem may be the closest to relaxation she'll get for awhile. When my father died I ducked the whole situation, placing the load on my eldest brother; telling him "You're the oldest, you're the executor of the will, whatever you decide is fine with me." Probably a dirty trick to pull, but it helped reduce the dissension such as that Erin refers to in the title.
Hugs and prayers Erin,
Karen J.

acronyms! aarrgghh
Ok I'll ask, what the hell does ohrwurm stand for? If it helps to focus on this great, go for it. But don't stress yourself on our account.
Sorry to hear about your mum and I hope the family situation is sorted out with minimal drama and no ill feeling. I wasn't part of things when my dad died last Feb so I missed all that. Do take care of yourself.
Kristina
Not an acronym, it's German
for earworm. The title is a famous one form some story I read a long time ago.
Hugs,
Erin

that's worse
German earworms...eeek. Maybe it's an acronymic German earworm, that's dodgy English for pale and shrunken. My stories....ooerr, panic attack deep breaths... I'll just go eat a packet of chocky biscuits and drink a bottle of red. Now I'll probably dream of worms trying to eat throgh my brain...yeah I know, short trip little nourishment.

Ear worms
Do they wear earwigs?
Just a thought.
I think Erin should take a gold star for her work here.
Take your time and we'll still be here...
My stories don't get too many reads nowadays anyway, so I can wait.
NB
An acronym
of acronymic German earworm, would be AGE, perhaps the ultimate worm!
Still I'll deal with it when I grow up, or perhaps if I grow up.
Wot no recipes?

Growing up
Is optional, however, growing old is mandatory.
I'll stick to getting old. I'm getting good at that. I'm not so good at the other. Don't tell me you hadn't noticed.
NB
Ohrwurm
Is German for a tune that burrows into your ear and won't go away - just like "Tension, Apprehension and Dissension," which is from Alfred Bester's "The Demolished Man" one of the finest SF novels ever written.
Sinisterpenguin
it also means
'earwig' according to my dictionary, plus, 'a catchy tune'.

Earwigs
It does indeed mean earwig, but for some strange reason German popular newspapers carry more reports about pop music than earwigs, so the "catchy tune" was the first meaning that came to mind.
Part of the definition in my German dictionary translates as "Earwig; a member of the order insects [...] that neither creeps into human ears nor causes them any other damage [...]" However it doesn't tell us what earwigs actually do!
