In a couple of weeks....
In a couple of weeks, BC will be celebrating its 13th birthday but there were no accounts until I started using PostNuke software sometime in 2004. So your eight years is close to the maximum. :)
The account I'm using dates only from when I switched to Drupal not quite six years ago. Lemme check the age on the account that came over from Postnuke. Huh. Eight years and 1 week, so you did get an account just as soon as possible. :)

I just looked at my account and it's been registered 7 years, 27 weeks...
I remember reading BC before the changeover and some time after the dust settled, I set up this account. That is I don't remember doing on on the old software, but my memory isn't what it used to be...

Just checked mine and it says
Just checked mine and it says 7 years 51 weeks. I may be wrong but there was something posted to the effect that there is a problem/difficulty in how the site handles the information regarding one's membership length when it reaches a certain length.
Yes, there was
If your membership is older than the most recent update to the software, the length may be shown as shorter than it actually is. But not longer.
