As I performed my normal look over at Fictionmania for what stories and chapters were new today I noted that Danielle J and/or Elrod W posted MAU - Rules and Author's Notes in which they give the backstory, the rules, and some FAQs about the Morphic Adaptation Units, Mark V, for the MAU universe, along with some final notes about 'reserved' characters.
I would think that this should be used, to replace Mr. Ram's re post, of Elrod's MAU (Morphic Adaptation Unit) Universe Rules, placed on the Story Universe Rules section of Forums.

Arrgh! It took me years to
Arrgh!
It took me years to get that Cat food Jingle out of my head.
Now I have to start all over again.
Good job they do not show it any more.
I don't think they mean the meow mix jingle
this is the song that came to mind for me.
Papa Oom Mow Mow by the Rivingtons They were the original artists. A number of versions were released by other artists that added new words and kept the chorus. It was also 'covered' by the Persuasions for the movie E.T. The Extraterrestial.
Dayna.
While you may be a student of popular music...
...and thus are able to cite the information for the song; I am old enough to have heard it on the radio 77WABC in NYC and also on the 45 on my sister's record player...fifty years ago! I was eleven!
Love, Andrea Lena
I listened to it on KEWB
and I was driving my car, a fifty three Ford. I don't think the reference was to this song but to Meow, meow, meow, meow, pause, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow. Couldn't resist and i can feel the daggers coming my way. I had no problem getting that song out of my head because I hated it. Kewb was a sister station in San Francisco to KFWB in LA. Yeah, I 'm dating myself, I was twenty one when you were eleven, but rest assured that I had a drink to celebrate your birthday, when you turned eleven. I drank to everyone's birthday, just kidding. I sound like an alcoholic. Funny thing was that I knew guys that couldn't wait to turn twenty one just so they could drink themselves silly. My big vice was Diet Rite Cola. I must have drank three or four a day, but didn't get into beer for several years, but that's another story. See you on Facebook kiddo, Arecee
And I thought I was old :)
I used to listen to while I was in high school.
Yep the Rivingtons
Thanks Dayna for the link as I could not recall where the bit came from...
Now for the rest of you, the point was not the sound bit but a point out that the Forum entry for Elrod's MAU (Morphic Adaptation Unit) Universe Rules should be replaced but I know none of the three (Mr Ram whose entry it was nor the authors Danielle J and/or Elrod W).
I need to get back to work on this story by Dean and then move it to Fictioneer. The updated rules will affect the story line so it would be nice if I could keep the reference within the same family of web sites.
I have to admit though that the post's thread was interesting and fun.
Don't forget the Trashmen
I still like better the cover/parody of "Bird is the Word" and "Papa Oom Mow Mow" that the Trashmen made, called "Surfin' Bird."
Stuie
Kill Peter for bringing up that song. What do you think this is Family guy? :_)
mow mow
For me it brings to mind "Elvira" by the Oak Ridge Boys.
a MAU-MAU-MAU mau mau ma mau ** no not that song!!
Ask Bonzi about that song ans see what he says.
May Your Light Forever Shine
And you think that is bad?
Fifty years ago? Food for thought, for all you nuts (including me) who remember the following.
Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne, as Queen, from Frankie Laine to Justin Bieber. Scary, ain't it?
Don't let someone else talk you out of your dreams. How can we have dreams come true, if we have no dreams?

YES! The Trashmen or AKA...
MAD Magazine.
A classic.
