Lots of visitors lately, so that's why the front page sometimes changes to a simpler layout; it's a way of getting a little more speed for those on dial-up when the site is busy. Interestingly, it's not so much that more people are visiting lately as, although that's up, too, but the larger part of the traffic increase is due to more people looking at more pages each visit.
We had a few outages lately due to database overload but I think I've got that licked. Hope.
Oh, I swapped the right and left columns around because the old left column loads slower and putting it on the right means it loads AFTER the important part of the page so the lag isn't so annoying on slow connections.

New theme needed
Okay, the looks are called themes, and I tried pretty much every one available. Can we get a variation on the new default theme that puts everything back the way it was? I'm one of those dial-up users and I'll trade the load time for the previous style. I know you have a lot going on right now, I don't expect you to drop everything to do this. Just a quick note saying you'll do it when you have the time will be fine.

New Theme - Reversi
For those who preferred the former arrangement of side bars, if you're logged in, you can now go to |My Account| and choose the "Reversi" theme which will swap the sidebars BACK where they once were. It also swaps the colors with pink on the right and blue on the left. :)

You do get used to things so it is a tiny bit eye ball knotting having things switched about... but it does seem to load a bit faster. So, I'll give it a go for a bit and see before I try re- switching. Thanks for all your efforts Erin, it is much appreciated. Now if I can just get my eyes pointing straight again...

Once again, I've been caught off guard and I thought I'd put my glasses on the wrong way round.
If it helps the site, then I'm all for it. A simple fix for a difficult problem - Well done Erin.
It was confusing, but having said that, cleaning my glasses DID help...
