well, my ex managed to catch pneumonia, so she'll be very sick for a couple of days. I hope she gets better soon. I may not like how she thinks in terms of my transition, but I dont want her hurt.

My sentiments entirely. It's your daughter who will need reassurance and succour. If you do a kindness for your ex now, your daughter will perhaps remember it and might,one day, ask why you did it. Just say to her (because it's the truth,) 'I did it for you darling as well as your mum.'

Help Her
If you have the time to do it, help her by taking care of her or doing things for her while she is sick. You can reduce the animosity between you by this act of kindness.
