Dorothy's Onion Burgers

What you need:

1 pound of ground beef

1 package of onion soup mix

10 crackers

1 egg

Allspice or other seasoning.

How you make it:

take beef, and put into mixing bowl. Add onion soup mix, crackers and egg. Season to taste with allspice or other seasoning. Mix thoroughly, and separate into patties. Cook as many patties as you will eat over medium heat, turning over a couple of times. Dress burgers with cheese, ketchup, mustered, or other condiments and put on buns.

Enjoy!

I would advise against putting that sort of thing on your buns. You'll make the chairs greasy.

variations

not the first time ive heard of onion soup or crackers used in burgers.

Id advise extra lean ground beef. ketchup and mustard totally ruin a burgers taste.

for healty burgers use only egg whites it means maybe 1 less patty.

my recipe

1 pound extra lean ground beef.

previously dried and powdered bread crumbs. I throw them in my blender makes a nice fine powder.

half package of onion soup mix generic.

crush garlic clove

half an onion finely diced

no seasonings.

1 egg white.

Mix egg white thoroughly through meat. mix in garlic and onions. I prefer to mix my onion soup and breadcrumbs as a premix. Add mix into bowl working completely through till meat no longer sticks to your hands.

Preheat oven to 350F.

On cookie sheet crumple up some almunim foil and spread over sheet so that the patties will be supported but have room for fat to drain away.

curl up edges of foil to prevent spillage.

Place patties on this. I prefer to use a round plastic from bottom of my chopper and press out my patties so they are uniform in size and shape. Fit hamburger buns way better too.

Cook in oven for 30-35 mins remove let cool. If you wish you can remove while hot and place on bun and put a slice of cheese to get soft and almost runny.

Square the circle

That would probably make a good meatloaf, too. Just throw it in a pan and bake it.
