There was a little girl who happened to look like a little boy. His parents didn't knew any better, so they gave her a boy name, and took her home, and raised her as a boy. Eventually, people would have figured out something was up with her, but just at the point where she was starting to figure it out herself, something horrible happened to her.

A monster took her life away from her, and turned into ... a thing. An empty receptacle of the monster's twisted needs, and nothing more. And because she blamed her being a girl inside for what happened to her, she did the only thing she could think of. She took everything she knew about boys, and formed a boy self to hide behind. But she made it too well, because it thought it was real, and buried her, along with the memories of those dark years.

This continued for a few years, but as puberty approached, the construct started to fall apart. The thought of becoming a man, with muscles and hair and the rest of it seemed somehow .... wrong. As time went by, the girl inside he had almost totally forgot would ... leak up into his life, which frightened him. Especially since by this point he had been told that any signs of femininity in a boy was a sin. So he tried very hard to keep pushing her down, but it didnt work very well.

All it did was make him very unhappy, which tended to be expressed as self-sabotage.

Finally, after wrecking just about every part of his life, he felt like he had nothing to lose by facing the past. He started to get through the memories of the dark time, which was painful, but in the process he found Her.

And she wasnt the source of evil he had thought she was, that in fact she was the truth, the thing they were at the beginning. She was him, and he was her, and there wasnt ever any need to fight each other.

Now, bit by bit, she is making her outside match her inside. Its not an easy journey, but she's going to do her best to make it work.

Will there be a happily ever after?
