A Glass Half-Full

by Kristin Darken (aka Chaosdancer)
Book Cover

In the war to keep the forces of Darkness from overrunning the Earth, those dedicated in their service to the Light are rarely assigned responsibilities that cannot be achieved. Even if great sacrifices must be made for that success, some hope always exists for victory. The creatures of Darkness have now begun their greatest campaign and with each victory in the world of spirits and the supernatural, the mortal world becomes more cruel and dangerous. Time has come for a new age of defenders and a teacher has been chosen to prepare them for battle.

Glass Half Full

And here I was just bragging about what a neat story this is, over at The Crystal Hall. Looking forward to more. Thanks.

Oh My

It has been a long time hasn't it. About 3 years at my last reckoning. I am so glad you are continuing this story. Now I have to go back and read the previous chapters to be ready when you continue the story.

You can Darken my door way any time you want hon :).

Fine writing

Nicely done. Has a bit of the flavor of the Chrome Borne (sic) sci-fantasy-magic novels. But is there any TG/TS component in it?

Damaged people are dangerous
They know they can survive

It was previously released -

about 9 chapters worth if I am not mistaken and yes there are TG elements to it.

I haven't reread any of it

I haven't reread any of it yet. but I'm waiting almost patiently for some new chapters.

Years in the Waiting

I'm so excited! I've waited for years for this story to be continued and finished. Years!!

I'm rereading everything as I have time and I'll be waiting anxiously for chapter 10. :)

I love how magic is portrayed in this story and I love the rough battles against the forces of Darkness. It's like a modern day Tolkien. :)

Thanks very much and please keep posting past chapter 9.

Great Story

Just recently discovered it and couldn't stop reading until there was nothing left. The story and the writing are both great, the way you jump between perspectives but only use the first person for Dawn works really well.

My eyes actually watered a few times, especially when Dawn let her guard down and cried in Diane's arms for the first time. The music scenes were very powerful as well, especially when Dawn is playing the Piano in chapter 10.

Excellent story, can't wait to read more. I hope you come back to it, and there must be quite a few other people who feel the same way. Even if you don't come back to it, thanks for putting what you have up.
