"You accept the ride..."
----------
Without a lot of choices available to you, you nod and take her hand after collecting the traitorous lantern. She lifts you easily into the cart beside her, leaving you wondering if you have underwent more changes than just your gender. As your proximity to the apples increases, so does your hunger, and your stomach growls again beneath the folds of your robe and the constraints of the girdle.
Your ride gives you an odd look for a moment, then begins to laugh. "Hungry, friend?"
"A little," you agree, your stomach chiming in again to put the lie to your words.
"Have an apple or two. I'm on my way to the castle with the delivery, but I doubt they will miss them."
Gratefully you dig into the nearest bag, and pull out two of the most beautiful mottled apples you have ever seen. Biting into the first, the flavor is the perfect blend of tart and sweet, and you greedily devour both as quickly as possible, leaving your stomach satisfied.
"So, what brings you out to this neck of the woods? You don't see many ladies dressed as fine as yerself skulking around in the shadows waiting to surprise unsuspecting apple carts." She smiles at you again.
What do you do?

Be honest!
That's usually the best policy, and after she's been kind enough to give you a lift and a couple of apples, you might as well be open and honest back.

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
i agree

Ditto...
I doubt that you could come up with anything better, knowing as little as you do, and claiming amnesia's probably the easiest way to end up in the castle dungeon as a spy.
Eric
Tell her the truth
After all, it's not like you can lie convincingly without knowing about the world around.

What's going on here?
I vote for choice 2. It's an easy lie to keep track of, and I'm not sure we can trust this apple-seller yet. Apples are never a good sign in a fairy tale.
Is Amnesia Like Sleeping
RAMI
It seems to me the last Apple I knew of in a tale such as this, made Snow White fall asleep, at least "Until My (Her) Prince Will Come. It seems sleep affects at least two princesses, Snow White and Princess Aurora who was a sleeping Beauty
So if being asleep is a form of Amnesia, caused by eating apples I will vote for choice 2.
RAMI
Definitely tell all
Definitely, tell her your tale. She seems like a potential ally at this point, and beggars can't be choosey when it comes to making friends right now.

Tell the Tale - I´m interested how she would react.

Tell her-be honest!
She'll think you're crazy, but....

Claim amnesia, .....
.....as telling your tale could lead to a lot of trouble. Not knowing what sort of people you are going to encounter, I say claim amnesia. That way you don't have to remember any lies you can concoct and you can find out more about this place before you tell all.
But I guess we're telling our tale lol.

Too Short?
I'm a bit confused. When did our hero(ine) acquire a fine set of clothes? I thought all she had on was a cape. Perhaps the cape added the set of clothes but I'd have though she'd notice, even with hunger gnawing at her bones.
Oh well. It's a series of very short bits so I'll try to behave myself. :p
Thanks and kudos.
- Terry
PS I'd tell her the truth. I'm a very honest person. :)
I Think She Means...
...the cape and the girdle. Apparently they're fine pieces, even if there's nothing underneath. (Not sure whether she knows that or not -- the cape may be fully concealing.)
Eric
It was the robe not the cape
Cape is a small piece of cloth hanging from the back, and robe is a full garment with sleeves that sometimes reaches to the ankles.

Tell your tale.
The woods seem to be enchanted, so your hostess is probably familiar with magic and won't be too surprised and perhaps will be able to help you get back to yourself.
BE a lady!
I apparently jumped directly
I apparently jumped directly from page 10 to page 12. Page 11 was near the bottom. Oh well, no harm done.
