Been fighting with harassing phone calls from my mother's creditors. I really never knew how bad things were until she started ducking calls. It worries me greatly, but there is little i can do to help. I might as well share with you my secret plans - I had planed to take out a loan so i could get a transition started, but now its moot. Because we shared back accounts, I doubt i could get one. It was a long shot anyway, but ah, well. Dreams die hard, but they can die.

A bit of unsolicited advice...
...open up a new account in your name only and put your funds in there. Change your phone number and only give it out to whom you wish to speak. You're not refusing to satisfy her debt so much as get a bit of peace, since your life is already too stressful to handle much more. At least until you can get a handle on this.
The idea you had previously about her declaring bankruptcy isn't all that bad an idea, since she's not going to be apply for any credit on her own any time soon. The key is to isolate whatever funds you have currently so that they aren't swept up if her creditors decide to attach her funds, since you're co-mingled. Contact an attorney as soon as you can; legal aid in the States probably has a counterpart where you live. I'll be praying!!!
