The kudos thingie seems to be working, but not perfectly. Anyhoo, you can now give kudos to stories, down at the bottom just under the bookmark buttons. And you can see how many kudos a story has, if it has any, up at the top in the right hand sidebar. We'll let this work for a few days and see how it goes.
I may have to turn it back off or even uninstall it if it doesn't work right -- so don't fall in love with it. :)

Hmm...
I suppose it's better than nothing, but it's a shame there's nothing available that works similarly to the old voting module - i.e. the score is shown next to the voting button, and it shows up in the "mystories" stats. I still miss that module - if only it was still being actively developed (or developed for the version of Drupal you're running)...

Upgrades are coming
The upgrade that we will do to BCTS will include an upgrade to Kudos, too. The new version will have some capabilities that this one lacks and I'll be more willing to spend some time hacking the theme to get a little more mileage out of it. But personally, I like that the number of kudos is upstairs and the voting button is downstairs. Seems to me, that's the way it should work.
And I've got another wrinkle with this version of Kudos that might give part of the equivalent of the mystories info. It won't do that, btw, at all, but something else that might be nice, maybe. I think, after the update, I can probably include Kudos in the mystories info, too.

And presumably, whatever you do with the physical appearance of Kudos, it will be storing its data in the same underlying database table, so votes granted in this implementation will carry over to future implementations.
