Would You Believe This At Fictionmania?

!

Get ThisI have been posting PrairieGirl's story 'A Tragedy Of The Spirit at Fictionmania as per Melanie Dixon's permission. For awhile, in the synopsis, I said that I was posting to honor her, but when I stopped, people said that I was taking credit. Why can't the readthe story from the beginning?

When you stopped giving credit to her for her story

it probably appeared to some people that you were taking sole credit. Even when you post a story by someone to honor them, you're responsible for providing them with credit every time. Restore the credit for authorship to her and it should solve your problem. Belle

People start reading whereever they want to

There are stories in which I am leery of the subject matter and I will take a slight skim of near the end to see what gives with the story line before committing myself to investing hours of my time to something I hate.

So yes, restore the attribution.

Hmmmm.....

It's better to leave your name off of the authorship location, which only confuses people, and merely say in text that you are posting for her, don't you THINK???

Mea the Magnificent

I agree,

I'd like for my name to be removed as author, just as postor. one of the people in charge there has spoken to me. So things are better, now.

People Can Be So Mean

Even when all a person wants to do is spread some love around -- people take exception.

I suppose it's all in how you go about it.

Take Bobby Knight, for example. He was a wonderful person a lot of the time when he wasn't saying stupid things about rape, or throwing a chair across the court, or grabbing a player, or . . . etc.

It's so easy to be misunderstood.

You seem to be misunderstood a lot. Maybe that's just your lot in life.

Why are you writing about this in a blog on BC? Is there some action you would want the readers and writers of BC to take? That FM crowd can be tough. Without Erin to keep the peace you could get roughed up by them. It's understandable if you don't feel up to standing up to them by yourself. Are you asking us for help? Maybe you should ask Andrea, she's pretty good at stating her position on FM and SS. Or, you could ask Mr. Ram to help you. If you talk to him man-to-man he'll understand, I'm sure.

I've never won a war of words on FM or Storysite. I've pretty much decided it isn't worth it. Maybe you'll come to that same conclusion and walk away from the battle. That might be better than looking so weak.

It is just the thing to do Stan...

To credit the original author on every posting, it is their story and their name would have been listed as the author when they had posted it. This is a tribute posting so the tribute should continue on each part posted.

My humble opinion...
