Herman?

isn't he running for us president?
Diana

Yeah, maybe future Pres of the USAians

Being bat-shit crazy and dumb as a bed post doesn't seem to be a disqualification for the Republican't nom-nom-nomination this election cycle. (The only people who are seeking the nomination and aren't those things are Mormons, and that seems to mean they aren't qualified to lots of the Repub core.)

The top item on his resume is that he was "CEO" of the eighth largest pizza chain in North America; it was a subsidiary of a subsidiary of Pillsbury (the super conglomerate that makes those canned biscuits and has a doughboy as an icon.) Pillsbury wound up owning Godfather's Pizza because they wanted to buy BurgerKing so badly. It was bleeding money before Cain got there, and it's hard to tell what happened while he was there because of the real corporation infusing money into it (really trying to hide profits) and/or sucking cash at other times (its really hard to tell, they've got pros for this stuff), but there were fewer stores when he quit than when he started.

His political background is working for Restaurant trade organizations, ie a lobbyist who fought to keep the minimum wage obscene and unenforced, DUI limits very high, and to get smoking bans declared unconstitutional. All by 'contributing' someone else's dime to our 'statesmen' in congress.

He did that so well that the Koch brothers adopted him, which means he gets all Heritage Society, Cato Institute, and other Koch 'think tanks' (propaganda machines) clap trap for free; they gave him a regressive tax program for instance. But even the Koches only put him into the presidential field because they thought they could sell some of the books they had had written with his name on them (they don't need the money; they just like the exposure for their ideas and hatreds).

However, even though it was never anyone's plan, because the rest of the Repubs are either Mormons or so stupid they can't even impress the stupid, Cain has become a front runner fro the nom-nomination. And because apparently a lot of people can't remember which American political party fucked up the entire world's economy four years ago, and who has thrown a temper tantrum because they lost the last presidential election causing the whole country (well, really only the middle and working classes, not there buds) to suffer, someone, even one of those idiots, might win next year. (especially since the Republican'ts have managed to rob ten million people they don't like of the vote.)

I Think I Would Ask Him

jengrl's picture

PICT0013_1_0.jpg if he has ever gotten up in the morning and said "I think I'll be Gay today because I feel like it? Ask him if he ever felt attraction for other men? Of course, he would then say no, which means he knows the truth about Sexual orientation and is just pandering to the Conservative base or he is lying to himself. Predictably, he will say no. If the choice argument was true, then there would be A LOT more bisexual people running around. I have friends who knew they were Gay at around age 3 the same way a lot of us knew we were transgendered at around the same age. You just know in the core of your being who you are and who you are attracted to. People fight it for a long time, but in the end , a lot of them come to realize that they are who they are.

Herman Cain = Republican Canidate for President????

Herman Cain is not your average, run-of-the-mill candidate seeking the GOP nomination in 2012. A businessman, columnist, radio talk show host, minister and singer, he's best known as the former president and CEO of Godfather's Pizza who succeeded in turning the flailing company into one of the top pizza franchises in the country. This is your answer right off the Internet!!!!! Richard

Richard

Cain

To answer your specific question, no, he's not in either house of Congress. In fact, he's never held public office at any level. (Unless one counts his regional Federal Reserve Bank experience, but that's a matter of definition.)

Eric

Ye gods

I found myself on the side of Piers (not 'Pierce'} Moron for the very first time!

I remember my brother, when he was about fourteen, saying that he'd been down the newsagents, trying to decide which comic to buy, and just for a change he's taken Gay Times rather than Heavy Metal Heroes. Well, it was his choice, and to give him credit he stuck by that choice through all the beatings and his near death at the hands of one particular homophobe.

Note this telling point from Dan Savage ..

If being gay is a choice, show us the proof.

Choose it.

Choose to be gay yourself.

Show America how that’s done, Herman, show us how a man can choose to be gay.
