Well, I am trying to keep positive despite my setbacks. I had my counsiling, and felt very encouraged by my progress in dealing with my rape, as is my counsilor. Now, if I could just find a job, preferably one that will let me transition, things will be great. Meanwhile, I figured I needed a little pick-up, and bought some doller-store panties, and plan to eliminate my male underwear, except maybe a single pair in case I am going swimming or something. Its a little thing, and nobody else will even be able to tell, but it made me feel good, so that counts too.

Seriously, even little things like that make a difference(At least they do for me). Those little things allowed me to hold on a lot longer than I think I could have otherwise. I don't know if that's a good thing, but at least I'm here to ponder the point.

It does make a difference. I gave up mens underware a couple of years ago and it is nice to know that there is a little representation of Kristy that only my wife and I know is there. It's good to hear you are doing well and celebrating the small steps on the big journey. Wearing panties and keeping my toenails painted have been my nearly constant hidden connections to my Alison self for a few years. It truly is calming.
I don't know what kind of work you do, but there are a number of organizations that can help with workplace transitions. Make sure to do your homework before telling an employer you want to transition. HRC (HRC.org) publishes an ever-growing list of the best places to work for GLBT equality. All of the companies on the list have supportive policies regarding on the job transition and likely even offer insurance coverage for transition related procedures, counseling, and medications. There are plenty of other organizations, probably even some in your area, who might work with you in coming out to your employer. They can also help to guide your employer and you in planning for a successful workplace transition. Feel free to contact me if you need help finding some resources.
